I would like to use it, but not competitive enough (not enough counter spells, High average CMC) But great deck! +1

The deck isn't meant to be competitive. It's meant to be a janky glass cannon of wombo combos smushed into one big heaping pile of a deck. But thanks anyways, you two!

Thanks! Give the deck a try. It's a lot of fun, especially with two Hive Minds out and Eye of the Storm!

This deck looks unlike anyhing i have seen so far. I'm currently looking for a EDH deck that's fun to play with - like every turn you do something funny. I think this might be it. Thank you for your hard work!

How do you put a custom image in your commander slot?

This deck looks awesome, but note about the wombo combo. You may have worded it wrong, because it says to play enter the infinite, and then Boundless Realms Great deck though! +1

How can you play with Kruphix and not run Genesis Wave?

August 31, 2015 7:05 p.m.

Add Stolen Identity to increase the potential of wombo combo.

Wave is great, but it's not with the flavor of the deck. The deck wants to group hug then play out the wombo combo or deck people out. I would play Stolen Identity but the wombo combo is enough to kill people already. But the deck is undergoing changes in paper right now.

This is definitely the most enjoyable deck I've played, everyone loves the jank and it wins much more than it loses, I've made a few changes to it for my meta like removing the Mindslaver combo (No one seems to like this one much :p)

Thanks! That means a lot to me! I'm actually changing a few things around making it a bit more huggy at the moment with stuff like Font of Mythos and Howling Mine.

***Disclaimer: My playgroup pays no attention to EDH banlist. If I've mentioned a card here that is banned, I hope you can forgive me; I have no idea!

Hey man! I made an account just to share with you some of the fun stuff from my very similar group hug deck! Maybe you've thought of it already, maybe it'll be a new idea to you, but are you familiar with storage counter lands? :) Saltcrusted Steppe and Calciform Pools serve me so well in my deck, though there is no U/G equivalent. Throw in an Inexorable Tide, maybe a Doubling Season if you can swing it, and, for the real wombo, a Vorel of the Hull Clade! For politics, I use the wonderful Magus of the Candelabra, though he can be useful to turn that colorless Kruphix mana into a fresh batch of lands!

With all of the counters mentioned above, how silly would it be to not play some Planeswalkers? :) Personally, I run 6. There are certainly better ones for group hugging or abusing, but my paper access to them is limited. So, in order of how much I use each one, starting with rarely and ascending to almost every game, Narset Transcendent, Venser, the Sojourner, Jace, the Living Guildpact, Tezzeret the Seeker , Tamiyo, the Moon Sage, and Jace, Architect of Thought. Narset's and Venser's ultimates make you a prime target, but there isn't much they can do at that point. The Living Guildpact makes for interesting games when you've almost milled someone or every one out while giving you a seven card advantage over everyone. Tezzeret is used in my deck because I use Artifact lands. I can Minus X, where X is 0, grab a free land, then untap two lands to plus him each time. I've never had a use for his ultimate. Tamiyo makes things happen, her ultimate allowing you to recycle every single spell you sling at your friends and foes as soon as it leaves your hand. All yur spells become boomerangs, in a way. But our Architect of Thought is just too OP in a game o multiplayer. Ask your teammates, "Hey, give me what you think I should play" and, if your cocky, say it to your opponents, too!

Since you've access to green, abuse it! A little Doubling Season goes a long way, even if it is just a Parallel Lives or maybe a better huggy type doubler, Primal Vigor. Couple one or all of these with a Sylvan Offering, Verdant Force, or, my favorite, a Clone Legion.Run some Stolen Identity type deals, with a lovely little Biovisionary, and you've got yourself some crazy numbers on the field, and, if running white, in your life account, too. (Via Soul Warden, Soul's Attendant, and Essence Warden.) Some players appreciate a little helpful deck thinning, so why not play a Weird Harvest? No explanation needed!

Since you're running blue, abuse it! Some things just go so nicely together, and some spells deserve some copies! Blue in my version has a lot of support to make the hurt hurt even hurtier! To start, Curse of Echoes will make that pesky burn guy think twice about his spell placement. Leveling up an Echo Mage will give you the edge when everyone else is flinging around big spells, while Meletis Charlatan can earn you some allies (and enemies, I suppose. Politics, really!) I trust you could find a time and place for Redirect.

Of course, my hug comes from a different commander, Treva, the Renewer, whom I chose originally solely for his access to white. After time, his effect grew on me and allowed for a stupid amount of life gain every game. With access to white, so many new possibilities open up! Game ending before your fun has started? No worries, throw down an Arbiter of Knollridge and watch the aggressors' eyes water as the victims kiss your feet out of worship. Is there a big booty on the field that will just crush your spirits? Drop a Swans of Bryn Argoll and either alleviate someone else's bully problem, or help someone draw a lot of cards for you doing nothing! And for team games, a well-placed Imperial Mask goes a long way. Life gain is perfect for a card like Channel, and I'm sure you could find a use for it without life gain.

I've given you a lot of key components to my own group hug, but, if you'd like, I can put together a decklist on here for ya! Hope I've helped!

You should add Prophet of Kruphix. One for flavor win, and two because prophet of kruphix + kruphix = ridiculous ramp

No offense Stryker3548 but your deck sounds almost completely different to what this deck does, half of the cards you suggested are white and most of the blue / green cards are token generators.

PrimalRage This deck already has a Prophet of Kruphix :)

Anorak Just telling him how I do some things with mine, as we use a lot of the same cards. The ones I listed are major dfferences, I'm just clarifying that I use white because reasons with my group hug. If you want suggestions for your group hug specifically, then I'd say to consider things like Redirect, Magus of the Candelabra, Tamiyo, the Moon Sage, Curse of Echoes, and Meletis Charlatan. Because of your affinity for "X" with this mana deck, Sylvan Offering can be a deciding factor over who wins and who loses, especially paired with Primal Vigor. The vigor affects all players, but, if you wanted an edge, you could use another one, a la Doubling Season that would allow you to double everyone else's tokens, but quadruple your own. Personally, I benefit from how others play a similar deck, so I thought I'd offer some white cards that would be reason to throw in some white.

Anorak says... #20

Oh sorry Stryker3548, I thought you were suggesting all those cards, my mistake :p

I really like Tamiyo, the Moon Sage and Curse of Echoes! Will probably add echoes to mine if I can find a spot, opponent casting Redirect targeting boundless realms is just the worst thing ever.

Magus of the Candelabra is an interesting card, on it's own it gives you colour to cast cards with mana from your pool, but actually with a couple land/mana doublers out like Mana Reflection could be quite powerful, not sure if it does enough on it's own though, I may experiment with it.

Also sorry NoPantsParade if it feels like I'm hyjacking / stealing your suggestions :3

NoPantsParade Out of curiosity, do you find that when playing against people regularly with this deck, you get a lot of hate early game due to lack of blockers regardless of hugs? have you considered adding any lifegain to recover a bit in the late game to save you being one hit when you become a threat? Ivory Tower seems to work for me sometimes, but against a lot of removal often annoyingly get removed 'just cause'.

Stryker3548, thanks for the suggestions, but like others stated, the cards don't really fit the theme of the deck. However, stuff like Redirect and Curse of Echoes seem fun. And yes, Anorak, I do find that this deck suffers from early game beats. I'm thinking of redoing the deck, keeping it stupid and janky, but adding a bit more early game stuff to prevent being attacked.

Thanks for the suggestions and taking your time!

As some added protection against enchantments, consider an Aura Thief? Or, once you do get all your lands out, try Recross the Paths to basically put your deck in whatever order you want. Hugs for Fertilid because he searches a basic land for target player. If you're still not sold on the Sylvan Offering consider a Wirewood Channeler? That sure is a lot of elves...Or maybe an Everflowing Chalice / Astral Cornucopia to tap for stupid amounts of mana every single time. (Pro tip: Vorel of the Hull Clade) That guy wins me games!

Anorak says... #25

Aura Thief looks interesting, but only good against heavy enchantment meta. I think the ramp in Recross the Paths and Fertilid might be too slow. This deck doesn't have any elves Wirewood Channeler would be pretty bad.
