I've only gotten a single turn 1 win and that was with an older build. It's still possible but pretty unlikely. I haven't calculated the odds but in order to win turn 1 you need:Griselbrand , card:Goryo's Vengeance, Faithless Looting /Funeral Charm , a Land and a combination of 2 Simian Spirit Guide /Chancellor of the Tangle .

T1: play Blackcleave Cliffs , exile Simian Spirit Guide to cast Faithless Looting chucking Griselbrand . Tap Blackcleave Cliffs and use G from Chancellor of the Tangle to cast card:Goryo's Vengeance.

it doesn't work with Funeral charm then, you don't have 2 B mana for both Funeral Charm and card:Goryo's Vengeance

Wondering why Thoughtseize instead of Duress or Inquisition of Kozilek SB. Also, just cutting 1-2 charms for Thoughtseize main may work out well for you.

I've never had to touch the Sideboard, so it's pretty theoretical.

Thoughtseize would replace Funeral Charm in the event of facing a deck that runs a lot of control to try and keep them from destroying my hand. The benefit of Thoughtseize over Duress or Inquisition of Kozilek is that I can target myself with it to discard Griselbrand .

Nice combo deck, but also reminds me the reasons why I don't want play constructed formats :-D

Yea, I agree decks like this ruin the game and generally are only fun to play against the first time(if that).

After playing this deck a lot I find this deck plays 2 ways:

A) I combo out before turn 4. (usually turn 2-3).

B) I don't do a single thing (except if I'm lucky play a Faithless Looting).

I haven't been keeping score but I'm pretty confident I've seen more A than B. This list is about as tight as it gets (other than the land I guess) and it just works wonderfully.

While is is said to have a lot of weaknesses I find it's just too fast for most decks and even a full side of graveyard hate relies on just as much luck as this deck does (plus Goryo's Vengeance can be cast at instant speed). I almost want to say this deck is breaking the modern format, but not any more than the other ridiculous combo decks you see, but because it is simply so fast I wouldn't be surprised if wizards made a ban on something, I dunno what it would be though.

I have a blast playing this deck because of it's simple power and speed, Glass Cannon indeed.

Two things. One, I love this deck! It is BRUTAL. Reminds me of Emratrap decks.Second, your number of upvotes is 69. Nobody else should upvote it.

I love the deck but I don't think I'm going to play it since it loses so easily against jund and uw control

Maybe I should Splash blue for Snapcaster Mage lol.

But I think any changes to the current deck are likely going to slow it down.

Wow, don't think I've seen a creature get so abused, as what you've done with him in this deck. XDDD

I'm liking it. I notice you've already considered splashing blue for Gifts Ungiven and Snapcaster Mage , but I'm suggesting it again just in case you forgot. : p

Gitaxian Probe might also be a good idea. The lifeloss might be bad, but it draws you a card for 0 mana and lets you see if your opponent has anything dangerous in their hand if you don't have any Pact of Negation .

Maybe consider Summoning Trap ? You'd probably have to add in another couple of cheap creatures to make it a better option, but you could totally use it alongside Pact of Negation to hopefully get an earlier Grizzybrizzy and win the game. That might be a bit tenuous, what with Pact killing you if you don't pull Grizzy, but it's probably worth a shot.

Also maybe card:Summoner's Pact would be good, now that I think of it.

I think I might build my own version of this now. : p

And I somehow missed that card:Summoner's Pact specifies green.

Oh well.

And Summoning Trap doesn't work the way I thought it did, either.

Man, I am just having a bad day today.

Sorry man.

no problem thanks for the ideas. I've seen a few decklists featuring snappy winning tournaments! so this deck might become an archetype soon!
