I am new to magic (one month) and trying to create a deck to compete with my son and his friends who have been playing for half a year. Please forgive any misuse of jargon due to my lack of experience. I want to know where I am vulnerable and how to correct those vulnerabilities. I know Ordeal of Heliod + Sunbond have great synergy (thanks to minelia5) and can quickly beef-up any heroic like Fabled Hero. Abzan Battle Priest + Phalanx Leader and Seeker of the Way gives a lot of lifelink creatures which boosts Ajani's Pridemate. Hero of Iroas allows for a lot of enchantments quickly, which boosts Eidolon of Countless Battles when placed on any heroic. Azban Falconer+Brave the Sands gives me vigilant flyers. Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx + Return to the Ranks could allow me to repopulate after a board wipe like End Hostilities. The combination of creatures and counters makes Gleam of Authority a potential blind side, especially when attached to a protected Cavalry Pegasus . I like the shift to blue/white after sideboarding (thanks again minelia5!).
