I think Griselbrand is banned in EDH, but if you have a group of people that do not worry about that it would be a good card to add. The other suggestions are good ideas as well!

Ohh, never even thought about Griselbrand . Yeah, if i can snag one, definitely.
The only reason I'd have to pass on the Golgari Thug is this thing plays like 90% by reanimation, very little hardcasting. And I'd rather draw into a non creature, so that doesn't fit too well. The Dakmor Salvage is sweet early game. Thanks for that!

Regrowth will let you get things you milled back. I can't help but notice you don't have the disk lock in here. Darksteel Plate and Nevinyrral's Disk with your general means you have a board lock. When you pop disk and an opponent's creature dies you get disk back from your commander's ability.

True, that's a sick board wipe, but then my deck would be pretty slow to get back up and running again =/ might be a replacement for Life's Finale though.
November 6, 2013 11:44 p.m.
It still leaves you with your general, on a related note why no Mycosynth Lattice ? It pretty much make you unstoppable.
November 6, 2013 11:53 p.m.
McClair_Bear says... #8
Mycosynth Lattice only makes things on the field artifacts, so it's of no use when something is in the graveyard. Even so, it would give my opponent (assuming he's running a tri colored deck) more of an advantage than me.
What would I take out for Conjurer's Closet ?
November 16, 2013 8:38 p.m.
Beacon of Unrest - because it never dies. Or Necromancy or Nim Deathmantle
Butcher of Malakir because it's great.
Reaper of the Wilds maybe ?
Fleshbag Marauder can be a pain for opponents.
Here are some other cards that can go well with things dying. Black Market , Pawn of Ulamog , Gutter Grime , Sadistic Glee , Jar of Eyeballs
what do you do against Rest in Peace ?
November 28, 2013 8:24 p.m.
McClair_Bear says... #10
I like it. Definitely will get Beacon of Unrest and maybe Black Market . Will get Butcher of Malakir .
Reaper of the Wilds would be nice, but the scry 1 in EDH (I doubt, but never tried it) would work too well.
Fleshbag Marauder , meh. I have enough "kill their creature" cards
Rest in Peace ... Shit. Never played against it. I suppose if I play that, Bojuka Bog , Tormod's Crypt or any other "Exile graveyard" cards, I'm kind of screwed... Suggestions?
November 29, 2013 12:32 a.m.
There's nothing you can do except Riftsweeper and in response to them playing it somehow shuffling your graveyard back into your library ( like Elixir of Immortality ). There are probably better examples but I cant think of them now.

Naturalize and Abrupt Decay would work, I suppose.
November 29, 2013 2:18 p.m.
McClair_Bear says... #13
Plus, I feel like a lot of EDH decks wouldn't run Rest in Peace solely due to the fact that it also exiles their graveyard, a a lot of decks use a graveyard mechanic of some sort.
November 29, 2013 2:21 p.m.
Ive been playing my competitive teneb deck deck-large: teneb-combo-harvester-competitive-edh. It comes up a lot. Lots of players run it or something similar like Scavenging Ooze because geaveyard strats are so common. I pray for Acidic Slime or Riftsweeper

I would recommend from my own Glissa deck Altar of Dementia , Grave Betrayal and Thopter Assembly . Also, I quite like Makeshift Mannequin and Mikaeus, the Unhallowed .
The Altar feeds your grave fairly well, especially if you have expendable/returnable guys and/or Grave Pact /Butcher of Malakir out. Grave Betrayal is expensive but when you get down to killing late game all of a sudden you have hordes of guys on your side of the board.
Thopter Assembly turns into tokens which are a) expendable for whatever purpose, and b) Skullclamp . Lol
The last two suggestions with a sac outlet make sure that nobody has any more creatures to abuse their graveyards with.

McClair_Bear says... #16
Ohhh I might have to drop in a Mikaeus, the Unhallowed ... Altar is a possibility, and I've used Grave Betrayal , it didn't work. Thopter is an idea. Suggestions for replacements for all of these?
Makeshift Mannequin doesn't cut it. My other revival cards and Sheoldred, Whispering One will overpower it.
Thanks!

Oh, I'm sorry I didn't mean Makeshift Mannequin , I meant Puppeteer Clique because it exiles the creature it returns at EOT and is ridiculous with Mikaeus.
If it was me I'd look at Chainer's Edict (underwhelming in most scenarios,) Grimoire of the Dead (dripping with flavor...slowly; like molasses slow,) Ob Nixilis, the Fallen while awesome, is kind of inconsistent without a guaranteed land-drop (Perilous Forays anyone?) Also, I'd look at Recollect since you have a lot of ways to get stuff back and that's probably the weakest of them.
Otherwise I quite like this. I think you may be right about Grave Betrayal it appears really strong but so hard to drop it over anything else at 7 CMC.
December 23, 2013 2:22 p.m.
McClair_Bear says... #18
Agreed. the Edict is for early game, but you're right, it's interchangable, as is the Grimoire. Ob Nixilis, though, if he gets out early, it's bad. Even late game, if you have out Azusa, Lost but Seeking and get your draw mechanics going on, it's 9 life lost per turn, plus +9 1/1 counters.
I'll think about recollect. Right now, I need graveyard protection. Bad. Is Witchbane Orb worth considering?
December 23, 2013 3:18 p.m.
MindAblaze says... #19
Witchbane Orb is great in EDH and only better when you have Glissa who can bring it back.
December 23, 2013 4:30 p.m.
McClair_Bear says... #20
So in goes Mikaeus, the Unhallowed , Witchbane Orb , and for sure Thopter Assembly . Out comes Grimoire of the Dead , and idk what else.
And although I like Puppeteer Clique , it can only be used twice (the +1/1 and -1/1 both stay, they don't cancel each other out). So I'm not sure if that's worth it
December 25, 2013 2:07 p.m.
MindAblaze says... #21
That's how it used to work but it's changed;
121.3. If a permanent has both a +1/+1 counter and a -1/-1 counter on it, N +1/+1 and N -1/-1 counters are removed from it as a state-based action, where N is the smaller of the number of +1/+1 and -1/-1 counters on it. See rule 704.

OH MY GOD. THANK YOU FOR YOUR KNOWLEDGE AND INSIGHT ON THIS SCENARIO. THIS BITCHING Puppeteer Clique IS GETTING HIS ASS IN THIS DECK.
Any other cards I could use to abuse this?
December 25, 2013 3:47 p.m.
McClair_Bear says... #23
K, still need to throw in Thopter Assembly , Puppeteer Clique , Witchbane Orb , and I'm saying Wurmcoil Engine fits nicely.
Out is going to come Splinterfright (already in place of Primeval Titan , might as well make it 100% legal) for one of them.
Suggestions for the other three?
December 25, 2013 3:51 p.m.
MindAblaze says... #24
I'm still not a big fan of Ob Nixilis. He seems like you'd have to eat up a tutor or two once you draw him just to get the engine going, and even then it's fairly easy to neuter.
How has Necrogen Spellbomb performed in testing? Finally, I'd say Chainer's Edict despite sacrifice effects being occasionally useful (you do have Grave Pact and Butcher of Malakir though) and/or Recollect are weak enough to consider. Maybe Treasured Find because at least Eternal Witness lets you reuse Recollect .
December 25, 2013 5:18 p.m.
McClair_Bear says... #25
Sorry for the late reply, been on vacation!
Necrogen Spellbomb is fairly decent because of the low mana cost for a draw (or opponent discard) and the recursion usually occurs once a turn.
Chainer's Edict , though... I see your point. Early game it's good, but late game it scales to be awful. I'll probably drop that and Recollect .
2 more drops?
Thinking potentially Underworld Connections solely due to the fact that it eats up a land. This deck plays fast, and I'mma want all my mana, and draw doesn't matter much to me when everything I want is in my graveyard.
Maybe Pack Rat ? I still think he can get to be a hell of a threat if left unchecked.
Aaaand, I guess since I'm working on a graveyard theme, Azusa, Lost but Seeking isn't too helpful since I'm not drawing too much.
Thoughts?

Hmm... Maybe Griselbrand ? use his ability with the dredge cards in the yard. also, Golgari Thug and Dakmor Salvage ? just for the dredge. Oh, and Vengevine . +1, this deck looks sweet!
