Sideboard

I recall I slowly worked on constructing this deck for several months between the respective launches of Mirrodin Besieged, and Core Set 2012; by the time the latter set came out I had some huge breakthroughs and finally got to the point where I capped it off and considered it a "sealed" deck (it wasn't until recently that I posted my pride and joy on this site and started tweaking it again based off of it's positive reception and your constructive suggestions). Anyway, it all started with me picking up a gorgeous single foil Glissa, the Traitor out of a card shop case because she looked great and I figured I could build a deck around her. I started thinking about what artifacts had good ETBs (and consequently triggered effects from them hitting the graveyard as well) that I could drop, sacrifice, and bounce back with that traitorous legendary harlot and I was pleased to find such cards as Mycosynth Wellspring, Solemn Simulacrum, and on a grander scale Spine of Ish Sah (I feel Memnite should be mentioned as well despite it not fitting this exact mold, it works great as a chump blocker that can then be bounced back and recast for free). When I realized these ETBs and graveyard trigger effects were primarily mana ramp effects it all started coming together. Next I just had to think of easy and/or beneficial ways of sacrificing the aforementioned artifacts cards to get them into the graveyard to start this combo mana ramp effect. Between Phyrexia's Core and in particular Kuldotha Forgemaster things were shaping up perfectly (having a Fangren Marauder out for added benefits in this process is particularly nice). I had an epiphany. I could create a hybrid of the ridiculous and brutal "Kiora Atua deck" in the downloadable title duels of the planeswalkers 2012 (with it's heavy mana ramp and early brutal fatty drops) and this classically winningly broken Tinker deck. I was pleasantly surprised to discover how quickly I was able to drop game changer type artifacts such as: Mindslaver, Wurmcoil Engine, and Spine of Ish Sah (the spine itself perpetuating the established deck functions) through play testing "cheap artifacts"/Kuldotha Forgemaster/Glissa, the Traitor and the slightly simpler (and quicker) Treasure Mage/ Quicksilver Amulet combos respectively. The results were remarkably potent, and my only thought was that I should go bigger for an ultimate game changer high converted mana cost artifact creature. After scouring every artifact that was standard at the time, I found a singular card that universally met the criteria of what I had set out to find: Blightsteel Colossus. The initial play tests that included this one off featured it more as a "plan B" or "back up plan" type drop for the win, but as it started racking up consecutive tallies in the "W" column it quickly became the primary function of the deck. Get Blightsteel Colossus out on the field and swinging as quickly as possible, through any means necessary.

Sideboard note: I'm not gonna take the time to break down why I placed each of the 15 cards in my sideboard (I feel most are self evident), but I wanted to mention how cool it is that I can search for several one off sideboard answers such as: Grafdigger's Cage, Hex Parasite , and Nihil Spellbomb with Trinket Mage .
