Hmm, your deck looks pretty different. Usually my games involve tutoring for Sun Titan / Karmic Guide / Reveillark and saccing/reanimating creatures with ETB triggers. As such, I've tried to slant my deck heavily toward creatures.

Sorry, I just meant ways to tie your sacrifices into removing your opponents cards, and still being able to return them. I rarely find my deck having much of a graveyard except for a few instants/sorceries.

+1 I like this build it runs differently from my own and I like to see all the different builds and ways people play their decks. A card to consider if you haven't already is Dauntless Escort it's cheap to cast and has a great effect. Also I see it in your maybe board but if you can find room I really suggest using Necrotic Sliver . I put it in one day and haven't regretted it since then. Either way I still like this build. If you have the time and don't mind please take a look at my Yeva, Natures Herald deck and let me know what you think.

Thanks! I used to run Dauntless Escort . I took it out because I felt it was too reactive and didn't help me advance my game plan enough, but it could come back in the future.

Have you considered Altar of Dementia and Dictate of Erebos also Chromatic Lantern is really good ramp. also a few more board wipes can never hurt

I'm happy with my current number of sac outlets, and I prefer recurrable sources of ramp. I'm currently trying to get a Grave Pact , which I'd like to try before Dictate of Erebos .

I think Chromatic Lantern is an auto-include for mana ramp/fixing purposes. Ashnod's Altar is also a favorite of mine.

Necromancy really shines in this deck. It's another recursion outlet -- at instant speed if necessary.

This deck doesn't usually have problems getting all three colors, and all the creature-based ramp spells can be recurred repeatedly, which is how this deck gets to the late game.

Ashnod's altar could be all right, but I don't make that many tokens and this deck doesn't have insane card draw so I don't like running too many cards that do nothing on their own.

This deck doesn't have many game-winning things to discard and reanimate early (using one-shot cards such as necromancy). That being said, Necromancy does seem decent because Sun Titan can bring it back. I definitely like it less than Karmic Guide, Sun Titan and Reveillark though. If I end up looking for another recursion engine, Necromancy seems good.

I typically use Necromancy against other reanimators. I use it in response to an opponents reanimation spell. At worst, it recurs a utility creature at a critical moment. At best, it disrupts your opponents play and gives you an advantage.

In my Karador deck, Ashnod's Altar is a favorite of mine, because I can sac utility creatures in order to ramp into something bigger and more threatening. I run quite a few 3 drop utility creatures. Some people recommend cards like Phyrexian Altar, but like you I have no issues making my colors -- I just like maximizing my mana return.

Another favorite card of mine is Natural Affinity. It's fun to combo with Elesh or Massacre Wurm.

I see that your considering Fiend Hunter. I have had good experiences with him. With the level of sac that your running, I think you could get some mileage from this card. I'm sure you're aware, but he is a perma-exile if you sac him in response to his trigger; that's how I used him. My deck focuses heavily on permanent-exile control so he was an auto-include for me.

Yeah okay, I'm convinced on Necromancy. I'll get a copy and try it out.

Ashnod's Altar might be a good replacement for Mirari's Wake. I would like another sac outlet, and Mirari's Wake felt a little too much.

The main reason I'm considering Fiend Hunter is for the Boonweaver Giant + Pattern of Rebirth combo: http://www.mtgsalvation.com/forums/the-game/commander-edh/forum-1-vs-1-commander-decklists/206309-competitive-karador-centaur-reanimator?comment=251 . The permanent exile would be a nice bonus, though.

That's a nice combo, thanks for sharing!

I'm curious, what has your experience with Diabolic Intent been? Is it pretty strong? The sorcery-speed kinda throws me off.

I haven't played with it too much yet. I added it a month or so ago and the one time I drew it I had no creatures -___-

Have you considered Teneb, the Harvester?

May 2, 2015 7:19 p.m.

keattz says... #14

Yeha, I'd rather not run a creature that has to deal combat damage to get value. I try to run mostly creatures that have an immediate impact so that they don't just eat a removal spell or get swept up in a wrath.

I would put in a Seige Rhino, because bringing back a lightning helix plus a big trampling dude is pretty sweet.

keattz says... #16

I could see Siege Rhino could be decent, although 10/10 times I'd rather pod into a Solemn Simulacrum. What would you cut for Siege Rhino?

The only thing in your list to take out for rhino i saw was animate dead just because its redundant but reanimating for 2 is soooo good. Other than that i would say take out a ramp elf or some other utility creature. To me the rhino seems like a card that you would take out for blood artist.

August 12, 2015 1:18 p.m.

keattz says... #19

After having given it more thought, I think Rhino is too weak. His ETB doesn't generate card advantage, and his life swing is usually going to be far less than what Blood Artist generates on average. Part of the reason he's so good in Standard is that 4/5 trample dominates the board on 4 mana, but I tend to sacrifice my creatures soon after they hit the battlefield. Also, 4/5 can easily be outclassed in EDH.

have you considered Spike Feeder? It's a really good card to have in karador decks and can go infinite with Mikaeus, the Unhallowed.

August 25, 2015 11:30 a.m.

keattz says... #22

I've honestly never considered it. I'll think about it, but it seems quite a bit worse than the rest of my 3-drops unless I'm going infinite. It does have fewer feel-bads than other infinite combos, but still I'm not sure.

You don't seem to have enough basic lands in your deck to make Hermit Druid worth it. I'd suggest replacing it with Pattern of Rebirth so you can get a fatty out quicker. Regrowth and Treasured Find are also great cards to have. Check out my Teneb reanimator, Life of the Dead and Dying for more ideas. Other than that, I think it's a great deck and have fun :)

Hermit Druid's main benefit isn't drawing me land, it's dumping cards in my yard. If anything, I'd like to go down to even fewer basics.

Regrowth is fine, but I don't know what I'd cut for it.

The sad thing about this is there are several cards to destroy your graveyard for low cost, but this looks good anyway!
