The goal of this deck is to make a resistant-stompy aggressive deck that focuses on winning quickly, but sacrifices a little speed for increased resilience. Note I want to keep this deck mono-green mainly for budgetary reasons.
Undying is a mechanic we see on most of the creatures here, and allows the deck to survive board wipes and most spot removal pretty well, requiring 2 spells per creature to remove (save exile). Feedback is welcomed!!!
Now for a card by card analysis:
Arbor Elf: It allows for mana ramp, and speeds up the deck as well as providing a 1/1 body in a pinch.
Ulvenwald Tracker
: This creature allows for some removal in this deck, allowing our creatures to repeatedly take out opposing creatures through its Prey Upon mechanic.
Strangleroot Geist: This card is a resilient, fast 2 drop giving us a hasted 2 damage on turn 2 as well as its undying which allows for it to resist removal and come back stronger.
Predator Ooze
: This card is resilient through its indestructibility, and also is able to grow to huge proportions, and tagging a Rancor onto it makes it a huge threat (especially to black players)
Deadbridge Goliath
: This card is a strong 5/5 for 4 that gives us a way to make our cards more powerful if it dies. Overall the body is strong for 4 mana, making it a very good 4 drop.
Vorapede: This card is the inspiration of this deck. For 5, we get a 5/4 with trample and vigilance. Sounds good to me! But wait, now it has undying meaning they have to remove it twice!!! And it comes back stronger, did I mention it has trample? Now we have evasion and resilience in one card. I'll take 4!
Thragtusk: Well this boils down to the fact I own 2 Thragtusk. They seem strong, give us some life to relieve a race against other aggro and also gives us insurance in the form of a 3/3 token if it dies.
Garruk Relentless
: The premier Garruk, he lets us search for creatures, comes with a little chunk of removal, and creates tokens to attack! GO WOLVES, GO 1/1's!!! Err, excuse me... Where was I...
Garruk, Primal Hunter: This Garruk gives us strong tokens with his +1 and gives us draw power with his -3. Blowing him up on turn 5 for 5 cards with
Deadbridge Goliath
isn't a bad deal.
Rancor: We're playing green-aggro, of course we're going to play rancor
Hunger of the Howlpack
: This lets us pump our creatures, and pumps them even more if something has died, and our creatures like dying and coming back!
Any feedback is appreciated! This decks budget is capped at ~$150, so keep that in mind.
