Goblin Copycat! Wort, the Raidmother Spellslinger

Commander / EDH Burn Control RG (Gruul) Tokens

2tank6

Maybeboard

This is my take on a deck to work with Wort, the Raidmother in Commander. Just looking at the card initially sparked ideas of what I could do with it, so I decided to test this out. Now I know that a lot of people typically work with her in either a goblin/token based strategy or more of a control/spellslinging strategy, but this, I think, hits a nice middle ground, able to ramp extremely well into either powerful burn spells or a ridiculous amount of tokens, which can then be used to either swing for game or provide nigh infinite conspire creatures to tap.

Notable combinations that work with conspire/Pyromancer's Goggles / Primal Amulet   when it's transformed and the like are able to combat a variety of situations. These are only a few examples, but the limitations of this deck are sky-high when you have so much spell-duplicate potential, both for yours and your opponents.

Board Presence: Avenger of Zendikar + Boundless Realms , Parallel Lives + Tempt with Vengeance , Increasing Vengeance + Tempt with Vengeance Goblin Offensive + Krenko, Mob Boss + Parallel Lives

Burn: Comet Storm + Insult

Draw: Cathartic Reunion + Increasing Vengeance

Spot Removal: Burn from Within + any copy spell such as Reverberate, Fork, or Increasing Vengeance. This could also be done with Fall of the Titans, though BfW has a lot more potency for dealing with boards blessed by Avacyn, Archangel of Hope and Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre. There are a lot of indestructible decks in my meta, so having effective ways of removing them is useful, especially for the Eldrazi to prevent graveyard shuffling shenanigans.

Vexing Shusher and cards such as Blood Moon and Magus of the Moon are there purely for the money hate. We run a lot of basic lands since we search them out so often, so having ways to slow down decks that usually try and pop off with artifact recursion or creatures like Derevi, Empyrial Tactician super early have to slow it down significantly. Control is something that be a thorn in the side against this deck depending on the spell and what we have in hand, so it can't hurt to slow them down since we have adequate chump blockers for things like Infect or Token decks. Cards like Revererate and Fork are amazing against a Counterspell or even Force of Will, but my circle has a lot more of the Cyclonic Rift and mass board bounce variety of card, so I am preparing to reduce and slow that down as best I can. It is one of the reasons I ended up teching in cards like Mana Web to prevent a lot of the interruptions on my turn. I did consider things such as Price of Glory and Citadel of Pain, but they caused a bit more harm than good for the time being at least since copying spells is something you can often float mana for, and having one that just impacts my opponents is good enough for me, since I am usually a prime target for counters.

Do let me know if you have any questions or believe any cards would be particularly useful in this iteration of the deck. I have found it to be a lot of fun, and copying spells adds a new layer of versatility to a Gruul deck that I enjoy.
