Shrine of Burning Rage is awesome, but what would I take out? It almost seems a bit slower than most of what I'm running in here.

Shrine of Burning RageMTG Card: Shrine of Burning Rage is slow compared to the rest of your stuff, but will really pull through mid-game when your goblins are just getting shut down. Maybe drop ArtillerizeMTG Card: Artillerize for it.

With artillerize costing 4, shrine is just way, way better. You'll have its counters soaring in no time with your cheap dudes.

That's a good point - subbed in! Thanks!

I'd say drop the reverberates for 2 goblin wardrivers

Suggestion Increasing VengeanceMTG Card: Increasing Vengeance instead of Reverberate. it's essentially the same thing with flashback and the "increasing" mechanic. It also makes for great Faithless Looting Discard fodder. Also, it doesn't seem that you have that many attackers. Maybe consider Accorder's ShieldMTG Card: Accorder's Shield instead of Signal Pest, since the latter boosts the survivability of your goblins and is a free artifact for Kuldotha Rebirth.

Increasing vengeance is what I originally had in, but it doesn't let you select a new target for the spell. Not that that usually matters since all damage is pretty much going to the face, but it is useful to counter mana leaks if I only have 2 mana open. But you do have a point with accorders shield, since it's a 0 drop that triggers metal craft. The thing is that usually my goblins are block fodder and I don't tend to win with ground force aggression. I just let te burn spells do it for me. Depending on how it does at FNM I may change that though...

@Skillz14 - I was really considering war driver, and hes even in my maybeboard. Instead of taking out reverberate, I may take out the fireslingers instead, since I have enough low drops and their activated ability doesn't usually get a chance to trigger before I sac em. I like reverberate because it lets me copy goblin grenade to do 10 damage in one turn with one goblin, or do a cheap copy of brimstone.

Thanks a lot for the feedback guys! I appreciate it and will report how FNM goes! :)

I love Reverberate in goblin decks with Goblin Grenade. Goblin Grenade a Goblin Arsonist, reverberate it, and 11 points to the face for 4 mana on turn three. I really like this deck, hope it works out for you!

Curse of Stalked PreyMTG Card: Curse of Stalked Preyand Curse of BloodlettingMTG Card: Curse of Bloodletting are both great for mid to late game in goblin decks, you may wish to consider putting them in, at the very least, in your sideboard.

There isn't anything more fun, IMO, than having a 5/5 Goblin Arsonist.

I was thinking of Curse of Bloodletting - it's pretty much a game ender in a deck doing this much damage. The only problem is I want this deck to be super fast, and I already have five 4 drops for the mid-game.

As for Curse of Stalked Prey, I'm usually sacrificing my creatures pretty often for Rebirth and Grenade, so it wouldn't be as helpful - but I did make a deck around Curse of Stalked Prey, because it's such a fun card: deck:easy-prey

Thanks! :)

Might I suggest Increasing VengeanceMTG Card: Increasing Vengeance instead of ReverberateMTG Card: Reverberate? Same mana cost and effect, with the added benefit of a flashback cost for longer games. Other than that, it's a pretty solid deck.

I've played around with that idea a few times. It's not a bad idea, but Reverberate lets me copy other people's spells. Useful only a handful of times, but it stops a Mana LeakMTG Card: Mana Leak if I only have 2 mana open, and I can use to copy spells like Lingering SoulsMTG Card: Lingering Souls to to get my own creatures.

That being said, there have been times late game where I've needed that extra push, and had the mana to use the flashback. Not to mention that 90% of the time I do use it to copy my own spells anyway. I think I'll throw it in for the next FNM session and see how it does. Thanks! :)

I've always wanted to run Past in FlamesMTG Card: Past in Flames in a standard deck, and you seem to have the Infernal PlungeMTG Card: Infernal Plunge, Kuldotha RebirthMTG Card: Kuldotha Rebirth, and Faithless LootingMTG Card: Faithless Looting do make it do something cool.

could you maybe include a 1-of, for casual play at least, and tell me how it goes?

esterk says... #16

That would be fun - I'll try it out in some casual play!

hey just thought you should be aware Increasing VengeanceMTG Card: Increasing Vengeance is NOT the same as ReverberateMTG Card: Reverberate. vengeance can't be used on an opponent's spell (dissipate for example)

March 15, 2012 3:29 p.m.

Ohthenoises says... #18

and ill just leave this here: Boom goes the goblin!

March 15, 2012 3:31 p.m.

esterk says... #19

Oh, yeah I'm aware. I originally had ReverberateMTG Card: Reverberate in here for just that reason, but after playing a lot, I found I only really doubled my own spells, and Vengeance is a great game finisher if the match drags out with its flashback (Goblin GrenadeMTG Card: Goblin Grenade+ flashback of Increasing VengeanceMTG Card: Increasing Vengeance is usually more than enough to finish the game).

Reverberate is really useful vs counter decks, but with this deck usually it doesn't matter that much because every spell is so cheap. If they Mana LeakMTG Card: Mana Leak, I can usually pay the 3 comfortably, if they DissipateMTG Card: Dissipate, I usually have another spell in my hand anyway.

March 15, 2012 3:34 p.m.

Ohthenoises says... #20

Again I'll reiterate, ReverberateMTG Card: Reverberate is not the same seeing as you can't Increasing VengeanceMTG Card: Increasing Vengeance a DissipateMTG Card: Dissipate onto itself like you can with ReverberateMTG Card: Reverberate

Ohthenoises says... #21

sorry didn't see it cause it got rolled up in the update

March 15, 2012 3:40 p.m.

esterk says... #22

Yeah that was my bad, I edited my Update. Yeah I'm gonna keep ReverberateMTG Card: Reverberate on the maybeboard for now, but it seems that Increasing VengeanceMTG Card: Increasing Vengeance is going to be better in this particular deck structure, especially working as Faithless LootingMTG Card: Faithless Looting fodder.

shaistyone says... #23

My red deck just got me a 4-0 at FNM - DA Fire Bombardment

I vote ReverberateMTG Card: Reverberate. I find myself quite often copying my opponent's spells.

March 26, 2012 1:16 a.m.

esterk says... #24

Yeah...man it's tough deciding. I threw in Increasing VengeanceMTG Card: Increasing Vengeance because I usually copy my own spells anyway and wanted that flashback, but I've never once had the mana to use the flashback cost, seeing as I run such a low amount of mana and try not to let the game slip that late anyway. I may throw ReverberateMTG Card: Reverberate back in, because it is useful to copy spells like Lingering SoulsMTG Card: Lingering Souls and other stuff.

March 26, 2012 11:50 a.m.

It's Goblins, you want cheap, might I recommend Goblin WardriverMTG Card: Goblin Wardriver?A friend who ran a mean Kuldotha deck also ran Moltensteel DragonMTG Card: Moltensteel Dragon
