woooo!!!

finally got him up.

I like it, very good standard deck. I usually overkill at about turn 5.

thank you. +1 :D

Looks solid. I ran a deck similar to this before Scars came out using Quest for the Goblin Lord. The only other thing I think you should find room for is Goblin Chieftain. He gives you another great turn 3 drop and swing for lethal.

take out 8x Mountain , put in 4x Arid Mesa 4x Scalding Tarn . I would agree on the Goblin Chieftain , take out 2 Mox Opal s or Ornithopter for him.

looks good besides all that, +1

i would have to disagree on the fetchlands.

though fetchlands are awesome, and staple in many decks, in my opinion, running a fetchland in a monocolor deck is superfluous

playtesting this deck, i've found that there's not need to run fetchlands

besides, the only fetchlands I have are Misty Rainforest and Verdant Catacombs

January 19, 2011 5:47 p.m.

Savage1988 says... #8

well, they're not necessary ofcourse, but you can ask yourself whether that's enough. If you want to seriously play this deck, any kind of deck thinning will help, and the damage they deal to you should not matter since you aim to win before t5 anyway.

I can very much understand that you don't want to spend $80 on 8 fetchlands for just this deck, or for any deck really, but they would invariably make it better. just trying to help :)

one more thing, you could make the kill on turn 3 if you'd drop another orni/memnite and use the last available mana on t3 for another rebirth, since the bushwacker provides haste for them too.

Savage1988 says... #10

and two more things xD then i'll stop spamming:

in your description you make it sound as if arc trail costs only 1 mana, while it actually costs 2, and on the expensive land thing; mox and koth aren't exactly cheap either, or are they?

January 19, 2011 6:28 p.m.

Legendinc says... #11

yeah, the fetchlands are pretty expensive, and in the description, that was a typo. i mean to put in Galvanic Blast , the other Scars of Mirrodin burn spell, lol.

as for Mox Opal , my friend has two Mox Opal (one of which is a holo :D) and i know for sure he'll let me use it in FNM. and four of my friends have Koth of the Hammer , so asking them for me to use it for a tournament isn't a big deal, because most of them don't use Koth of the Hammer because they're too busy and preoccupied with their jace, the mind sculptor

when it comes to fetchlands, most of my friends are running multicolor decks that actually need them, or in the same situation as me, where they don't actually have Arid Mesa or Scalding Tarn so i don't bother trying to ask for a trade or borrow.

Legendinc says... #13

mwahahahahah then this deck has done its job!

FEAR THE GOBLIN HORDE, FEAR IT!!!!!

January 19, 2011 10:52 p.m.

JDH_33 says... #14

If your just using Mox Opal for a sac than why not make it even cheaper and use either Accorder's Shield or Spidersilk Net?

January 20, 2011 12:18 p.m.

Legendinc says... #15

true.

but with Mox Opal i also have the option of extra mana each turn to drop burn spells or other goblins should my land base be all tapped out.

January 20, 2011 1:45 p.m.

Legendinc says... #16

so long as have two other artifacts out of course.

but with a 8 easy zero drop artifact creatures, that doesn't pose too much of a problem.

Kurzucik says... #17

Dude, thanks for this. I'm definitely going to steal it and use it for my own.

January 20, 2011 6:14 p.m.

Legendinc says... #18

....you're welcome?

lol if anybody asks tell them Legendinc was probably maybe one of the first people to come up with this combo. maybe. hahahaha

January 20, 2011 6:20 p.m.

Savage1988 says... #19

hehe, funny to see someone try and claim the kuldotha deck idea after about 4 months of it being in existence, the only new thing is the goblin wardriver, and that's a simple choice :P

no offense meant btw O.o

January 20, 2011 7:23 p.m.

Legendinc says... #20

lol it was a joke.

Kurzucik used the word steal in his post so i was subtly stealing the entire deck idea in my post. you know, satire.

January 20, 2011 7:35 p.m.

Legendinc says... #21

by the way, i "claimed" owner ship of the combo, not the Kuldotha Deck Archetype :)

January 20, 2011 9:31 p.m.

Kurzucik says... #22

I'm not stealing. I'm just going to take this deck and add a single Quest for the Goblin Lord to tell people I made it myself. LOL!

January 21, 2011 1:15 a.m.

Kurzucik says... #23

What I am trying to figure out is what I should put in the sideboard for this deck. So far I have 4x Goblin Chieftain and 2x Quest for the Goblin Lord. Any ideas? I am going to start running this deck for Standard as soon as MBS comes out.

January 21, 2011 1:32 a.m.

Savage1988 says... #24

@ legendinc; i think i was too tired last night to catch sarcasm :p srry bout that. And i see you have taken out the chieftain? What makes you feel the wardriver is a better choice?, it's 1 less mana, i get that that's important, but

@ kurzucik; you go girl!

Also a sideboard is meant to strengthen your deck against other good decks (UB control, Valakut, WW quest, etc.), it's not meant to just change your deck, and make it different.. The chieftain and the quest are basically mainboard cards or no cards at all IMO.

January 21, 2011 2:34 a.m.

Legendinc says... #25

lol sarcasm doesn't translate well over the interwebz, so no need to apologize

and i took out Goblin Chieftain simply because it was a 3 drop. the card i replaced it with, Galvanic Blast is an amazing 1 drop that can take away obstacles at instant speed, with the possibility of clearing bigger obstacles should there be three Memnite /Ornithopter on the field. which isn't a very hard thing to do, seeing how they're zero drop permanents.
