If this deck has a spiritual theme (and background), what the heck is Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre doing in here?

Also, 45 lands is way too much for a mono-color deck with that many mana-rocks. You can also consider an Urza's Incubator.

Suggestions for pillow-forting: Ghostly Prison, Norn's Annex, and Aura of Silence

Suggestions for angels: Admonition Angel, Akroma, Angel of Wrath, Baneslayer Angel, Deathless Angel, Herald of War, and Archangel of Thune

You can also consider a Moonsilver Spear as a budget equipment to go with the theme. Hope that helps.

Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre represents entropy, an unstoppable force wearing away at everything.

I err towards land flood because of Avacyn, Guardian Angel's ability. the way I play this deck is very passive.

Deathless Angel was in for a while, It never really saw play, so it was cut.

Cards like Ghostly Prison, Norn's Annex, and Aura of Silence cause an unreasonable amount of hate in my play group so they aren't included.

But otherwise, if your playgroup didn't have hate toward those cards you would run them? Could you give us a quick list of other cards that you're purposefully not including but would be great additions?

Linvala, Keeper of Silence: $170 Foil

Luminarch Ascension: makes EVERYBODY try to kill me, just too powerful in this deck.

Silence & Orim's Chant: for obvious reasons.

Isochron Scepter: people don't like me putting fogs on this.

Ajani Steadfast: dies immediately every time.

Worship + Delaying Shield + Phyrexian Unlife = Impossible to be killed.

Defensive Formation because defense?

Fight or Flight because the less creatures that can attack the better. Plus not too mean to make you a target.

Island Sanctuary because Pegasus. Reason enough. But actually, great card if you don't want to be attacked for a turn or two.

Sacred Mesa because more pegasus' at instant speed is awesome.

Solitary Confinement because it's one of the most effective "defense" cards out there. As long as you have an alternate way to draw, you're golden.

Second Sunrise and Faith's Reward because in case your stuff gets blown up or sacrificed.

I feel you might as well add Coat of Arms and cards like it to help your deck out. You could easily cut 5-10 lands and just use cards that can change color(Cloudchaser Kestrel to activate avacyn's ability for just 1 7 manna cost. Mother of Runes can join her in this regard too. I feel just being passive is kinda silly... if anyone exiles your Eldrazi you pretty much admitted you can't win... Baneslayer Angel is a great one too.

Ah, but see, the point of this deck is not to win, it is to become an impervious wall of not-dying :P

I know sitting around doing nothing isn't what most players want to do when playing a game, but that's how this deck works, and I've won a lot of games simply because I never put a threat on the table until the very end.

I can't fathom playing that way but if ya wanna. you might want an Elixir of Immortality or some such in case ya plan to deck people out by waiting it out. I would definitely add the Kestral and Mother regardless as they aid your commander in her job as is.

Beautiful deck, would love to see an Imgur album of all those foils.

45 lands is way too much.. Unless you're running cards like Land Tax or Endless Horizons you'll be running into lands almost every other draw.

MintyThe1st says... #22

i don't mind drawing into land, i often just sit on my commander anyway.

i'll look into Endless Horizons though

I realize you prevent a lot of damage but some more life gain wouldn't be a bad idea. Say something like Congregate. Art even keeps with the angel theme.

I did use Beacon of Immortality and Resolute Archangel for a while, lifegain just seemed redundant though.

This looks like a really cool deck! May I ask where you found that custom version of Avacyn, Guardian Angel? I'd like to pick one up myself.
