Ever thought aboutMana Tithe?Really a surprise against combo decks, which is most likely what you will lose to most of the time. Also, i believe this deck is a bit low on draw, not sure what to run to get that in this.

Also, Eerie Interlude can save you so well from certain exile boardwipes

I love this deck. My favourite card will always be Avacyn, Angel of Hope (I bought a copy of V15 because she was in it (and I am poor too)) so I always love an avacyn themed deck, plus the not dying theme also sounds cool. I have to add, I do love those alters, they look great.

A few more protection ideas include Gift of Immortality, Favorable Destiny, Mask of Law and Grace, Crown of Awe (although both don't help against black removal, Martyr's Cause, Kami of False Hope and Mother of Runes.

Maybe Heartstone for a discount on her abilities and Eight-and-a-Half-Tails to make colorless sources white.

I like this build! I built my own version that worked quite well especially in team/multiplayer settings: Commander of Angels. This deck is begging for Blazing Archon and also Story Circle in my opinion.

You should add Deserted Temple. You can use it to untap Maze of Ith or Spires of Orazca. Thespian's Stage can also copy those lands as well since neither are legendary. If your deck would be interested in more land ramp you might want to also consider Kor Cartographer as a viable option. Nim Deathmantle also seems like a practical card to run especially after a board-wipe or to recur Kami of False Hope.

This looks like a fun deck. Hope my suggestions help out.

I would add more ramp (Marble Diamond, Pearl Medallion, Commander's Sphere, Darksteel Ingot, etc.) in place of some plains (I like to have 36-38 lands in my control decks, as I feel that <39 is too much) to get your commander out faster to counter aggro decks. Also consider Serra Ascendant, Serra Avatar, and Luminarch Ascension for some nice attackers, and Blazing Archon, Ajani Steadfast, Story Circle, and Platinum Angel for pillowfort.

As a Vorthos player the name of your deck just irks me. Avacyn, Guardian Angel was created by a freaking VAMPIRE. To keep the other vampires from eating all the humans Sorin made Avacyn - unless you're trying to say that Sorin is God?

Mortlocke The name is not in reference to Avacyn. The name is in reference to the character that i use for my alter of avacyn.

Sakura is called "God's Beloved Daughter".

And just to add a little sass-back, oldschool planeswalkers were MUCH more powerful than gods, if Nico Bolas effortlessly killing 3 of the 8 Amonkhet gods and re-shapeing that entire plane to fit his whim, all while his power was rapidly diminishing because of the mending, means anything to you.

so yes, Sorin pre-mending was, in fact, equivalent to a God in power.

MintyThe1st, nothing wrong with a lil' sas :P - I checked out Card Captor Sakura briefly back in the 90's when it appeared on American Saturday morning cartoons, never got that far in though. The clap back is valid - Sorin is indeed one of the pre-mending walkers so technically the name is spot on. Gotta give credit where it's due.

I always love an angel deck. I know you said it was a protection deck, but that makes it even more beautiful. Also, thank you so much for saying that angels have no gender. It is a small detail, but it is one that so many people mess up.
