Sensei puts a training counter on a creature, so if you put multiple counters on it, it has that many instances of bushido 1 in addition to natural bushido (if any). Bushido doesn't stack the way exalted does and every instance triggers seperately, but only once no matter how many creatures it blocks. Takeno boosts samurai by each point of bushido it has, so if you've been pumping counters on something and drop Takeno, you get a big creature lol. Sorry for long winded response, but some may not be familiar with bushido.

Not bad. It has come a long way since your first attempt.

Love it! Kamigawa is my favourite block and I love seeing decks that show it's true potential! Can't beat having Golden-Tail give a load of bushido to then be boosted even further by Takeno. Don't know it if would help but Path to Exile could be nice.

Yeah, I got one path altogether lol. And actually borrowed from a friend. They are good, but I rather spend the money on other deck ideas at the moment.

What about the samurai equipment (General's Kabuto , No-Dachi , Oathkeeper, Takeno's Daisho and Konda's Banner )? But than again, it would probably be a verry different deck. But there are still a few samurai left that are quite okay like Inner-Chamber Guard , Konda's Hatamoto and Indebted Samurai ? +1 for my favourite block anyways.

I chose this list because it's the best of the tribal. Equipment is too slow for an already midrange deck, so a better investment is Honor of the Pure. I've had many forms of this deck, including running almost no Legendaries, but this has been the most competitive. It's won in play test against my other decks and competes well with my play group as well.

LOVE this idea (+1). Don't know too much about samurai and bushido but Konda, Lord of Eiganjo looks so good I'd put in 2 instead of one.

I would like to thank everyone for digging this deck as much as I do. Please feel free to suggest cards that would upgrade the deck in anyway.

Path to Exile is good, but Devouring Light is a good budget replacement. Mutavault is also expensive, but worth it.
A slightly more costly finisher like Mirror Entity would be neat, and a one or two of Indebted Samurai would be good because you're running multiple Legendaries.
Spear of Heliod could work in the mainboard or sideboard.

8-6 FNM! Losses came to RDW and Affinity (1-2 both). Beat two Trons (2-1 both) and some weird token based deck that never really got up and running 2-0.

Hey, what about replacing Isamaru with Champion of the Parish? Anyone else here is human, so why not? Also try Honor of the Pure

Isamaru has literally carried the entire match for me before. He is more than just a flavor selection. Honor of the Pure is good but one, I don't have any and two, it's really not necessary with the buffs that bushido itself provides along with Sensei, Nagao and Takeno. Those slots are better suited to removal since the samurai themselves are a one trick pony and fliers, artifacts and enchantments can give the deck problems. I have spent years tuning this deck and have tried your suggestions and similar ones as well. I have found this to be the best set up in my area. I still need to fine tune the sideboard naturally, but being in AIT right now I haven't been able to deck tune for oh, 7 months now. Thanks for the input, views and votes.

Kytheon, Hero of Akros Flip may run well in this deck. Could help keep some key creatures alive, as well as force a Bushido trigger by forcing attacks. Plus you can use his 0 ability along with Sensei Golden-Tail to get a free 4/4 samurai with Bushido however-much-you-spend. Just a thought.

I like the idea if ever get hold of any to try out. I have been adjusting this deck to be faster and the sideboard to better deal with fliers. I dont need a ton of spell support due to the built in protection of bushido and the fact I can put out a number of effecient bodies rather quickly. I find this to be the most consistent option for victory. I want to use Brave the Elements, but it doesn't protect against wipes. Rootborn Defenses partially does but the deck has so many low drops and creatures in general, I'm just not sure it is worth sideboarding. I constantly update though for the meta in my given area. Since I'm in WA now I've got a new meta to adjust to.

Why not drop mothrider and add in a playset of leyline of sanctity? Just thinking this is very vulnerable to burn.

Most weenie decks are. Point of fact I just don't have them. I would like to have them for tournament play as you are correct. I honestly get too busy trying to build other decks I kind of forget the cards I need for sideboard improvement. Any other suggestions would be awesome!

I just love the Kamigawa block, specially the samurais! I still have the samurai deck from kamigawa..always wanted to build a good boros samurais. Do you think this deck could be good with red? For Brothers Yamazaki, Fumiko the Lowblood, Iizuka the Ruthless, Ronin Houndmaster, even Battle-Mad Ronin.

I really like it, i tried multiple times to make a samurai-oriented deck, but never decided to buy one... :PWhat do you mean by saying: "Super pump with Sensei"? It means that you can put multiple Bushidos on one creature?
