This is an eggs deck for pauper. This is a non-tron version because the tron lands add an extra $20 to the deck for the lands, Expedition Map, and
Ancient Stirrings
.
Basically the goal is to get Golem Foundry and/or Reckless Fireweaver out and then play a ton of eggs to ping your enemy for 1 and make 3/3 golem tokens.
Although the landbase only runs Mountain and Island with a single Shimmering Grotto for color fixing, the eggs will color fix for casting/using abilities that cost white, green, or black. Darksteel Citadel synergizes with Reckless Fireweaver and Thoughtcast. The reason this deck doesn't run
Seat of the Synod
or Great Furnace is twofold - one they make it cost a decent bit more, and two - with them this deck isn't modern legal and I wanted it to be modern legal too.
The reason for including Reckless Fireweaver over Disciple of the Vault is that it's a 1/3 that can be used to help combat aggressive decks that want to deal damage with creature's that have two power. Plus it is more consistent with the colors because it can be cast off of the actual lands this deck runs.
The full playset of
Aether Spellbomb
allows for a decent bit of interaction with the opponent.
Pyrite Spellbomb
serves the same purpose but it's only a two-of because it's not as good.
Aether Spellbomb
always shuts your opponent down a turn, whereas with
Pyrite Spellbomb
you can run into situations where there's a three toughness creature that it can't handle. With
Aether Spellbomb
you can even return your own creature to your hand to protect it from removal. These eggs are the one's that you'll sideboard out for the Nihil Spellbomb or Sunbeam Spellbomb depending on the matchup.
Etherium Sculptor exists to make this whole deck tick. Once it's out, each of the eggs is a one mana artificat cast and draw spell. This allows you to chain eggs into each other.
The burn package in this deck is made up of two cards. You run Galvanic Blast because it's just a hands-down awesome card. It can close out the game with four damage to the face or handle a variety of creatures.
Scrapyard Salvo
also lets you close out the game by hitting your opponent for lethal after you've already done damage with Reckless Fireweaver and golems from Golem Foundry.
Sideboard just contains answers for certain things.
Krark-Clan Shaman
hits tokens on the ground and plummet hits the flying. The other spellbombs are just replacements for the ones in the main deck that help against decks that are really aggro or graveyard shenanigans.
Carapace Forger
is another really value creature for this deck if it has to play against the match ups with lots of creatures.
I'm looking for any suggestions for the deck or ideas for improving it's synergy. Just leave a comment with your thoughts. If you like the idea of the deck be sure to leave an upvote.
