Sideboard

Spawn big creatures, based on graveyard milling, and sacrifice them for the one-hit-kill, if necessary.

Much of this deck is based on the Golgari Perfected deck by Schmuckey.

Currently, I'm considering throwing in a trample enchantment, as playing against deck with small blockers and a lot of removal can best me pretty handily. Deathrite Shaman is something that Schmuckey used, but I'm not convinced it has a place in this deck... Still...

HOW DOES THE DECK WORK??

Basically, this deck works on filling your own graveyard as fast as possible to make certain creatures very big ( Nighthowler , Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord, Lord of Extinction), makes it easier to get it onto the field ( Nemesis of Mortals ) or keep onto the field ( Shadowborn Demon ). There is also some reanimation with Whip of Erebos.

Here's an understanding of the cards in the deck:

Creatures

Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord:

Staple card for this deck, as he builds up during the game, and his active effect has the possibility of basically one-shotting opponents!

Elvish Mystic:

Early game ramp, which is needed to get the instagib-combo off as soon as possible. Also, most units have quite high CMC's, which makes being able to put them onto the field faster very useful.

Satyr Wayfinder:

Decent library filter for early game mana, all the while filling your graveyard for the creatures / spells that use it.

Nighthowler :

Another must-have for this deck. He grows using the creatures in ALL graveyards, which causes him to constantly get stronger as the game progresses. His bestow-effect is perfect; a 8/8 Satyr Wayfinder, that spawns a 8/8 Nighthowler after dying is just too good to give up!

Lord of Extinction:

Easily able to be a 10+/10+ when he hits the field. One of the biggest targets for kill and/or counterspells, so watch out. This creature, together with Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord's activated effect is able to instantly win multiplayer matches handily!

Shadowborn Demon :

Decent flying body together with creature removal for only 5 CMC. Also a perfect target for Whip of Erebos, due to its 'enters the battlefield' removal effect.

Nemesis of Mortals :

With all the self-milling, it should be easy enough to be able to play this card for only 2 Forest, and upgrading it to a 10/10 will also be cheap. A 10/10 for only 4 mana in the late game is handily possible!

Desecration Demon:

6/6 flying for only 4 mana. Sure, you might not be able to attack with him, but you're forcing the enemy to choose to sacrifice his own creatures or grab a lot of face damage. Sadly a useless card against weenie/token decks.

Spells

Commune with the Gods:

Basically a filter and self-mill in one card.

Grisly Salvage:

The fast that this card is an instant, makes it ideal for some RNG-based combat tricks, just trying to throw some more creatures in the yard and make Nighthowler just that 1 or 2 points stronger during combat phase. Or 5 points for Lord of Extinction.

Abrupt Decay:

This deck needs its fair share of control cards, to make sure its combo pieces are not removed. This card is ideal against early game pressure.

Hero's Downfall:

Mainly used as a Planeswalker removal tool, but with only 3 CMC cost at instant speed, it's also a great combat trick.

Golgari Charm:

Enchantment hate, a token sweeper and an awesome combat trick in full board regeneration in one card. Priceless! This card also makes Desecration Demon's life a bit easier, against token decks.

Ultimate Price:

Creature Removal. Always handy.

Whip of Erebos:

Having these huge units with lifelink makes your life so much easier. Some units are also perfect for reanimating ( Shadowborn Demon 's removal effect, Desecration Demon's choice for sacrifice or damage).

Garruk, Apex Predator :

Not the ideal Planeswalker for this deck, but still very useful. His +1's are basically an anti-Planeswalker deterrent and board state builder. His -3 is another creature removal tool, for making sure that your huge creatures can do some face damage. His -8 is also quite nice, but the +1 and -3 are more important.

Lands

Shock-lands and pain-lands are virtually free, using the Whip of Erebos's lifelink.

Sideboard

The sideboard mostly contains a lot of control effects, together with some more copies of already present cards.

Dark Betrayal is useful in match-ups against black decks.

Lifebane Zombie has intimidate and hand hate against White and Green. Guess against what decks this card is played?

Pithing Needle is THE card to stop your opponent's combo pieces from working. Ideal against combo-decks or cards that heavily rely on the effects of one creature card.

Reviving Melody is useful for when enemy has a lot of enchantment hate against your Whip.

Unravel the Aether is a cheap removal tool for artifacts and enchantments, but using its instant speed can also save your Whip of Erebos from being destroyed!
