Disclaimer This is still a deck in progress and I'm looking for a lot of feedback, card suggestions and sideboard cards!

I started of with my first Golgari deck which is also on my profile, but I had the feeling it was missing something. I found the answer, it was control. This deck is much more consistent.

Mainboard

The early game

The general idea is to self-mill with Drown in Filth, Commune with the Gods, Grisly Salvage and Lotleth Troll. This will empower Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord en Nighthowler. Not forgetting your troll already has a counter or two. And you will be filling the barn for Whip of Erebos

A really good early game combo is:

Lotleth Troll + Scavenging OozeYou get to discard and then gain life and give the ooze the same power as the troll, 2 5/5's in turn 4 with some ramp?

For control you have cards like Thoughtseize, Putrefy and Drown in Filth for early board control getting the Lotleth Troll some breathing space.

There is manaramp, but that is mostly a left-over from my previous Golgari deck. I still really like it because everything goes a lot faster .

The mid-game:

This is where you will really shine, you want to have a Whip of Erebos down, or Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord depends on the early game. You'll also have a Nemesis of Mortals you can empower and then sac with jarad for 10 dmg for 7 mana with 7 creatures in your graveyard. Or for a completely different game you can use the whip for 5/5 nemesis with lifelink. Can you stop it every turn? Or even better a Jarad?

Sideboard:

I'll try to explain why it is there, and when to use it.

Abrupt Decay: This is a risky card to play in the main deck in my opinion because it has a limit of converted mana cost 3. I'd sideboard it in when they have a lot of low mana cost creatures. and swap it out with Putrefy

Illness in the Ranks: One word: Elspeth

Mistcutter Hydra: A haste protection from blue, with an X cost. Not a lot of control match-ups like this card, so use it versus control type decks.

Treasured Find: When you use cards like Vraska the Unseen, you really dont want it to wind up in the graveyard, this way you can return it.

Underworld Connections: When you have to play a control match-up you don't want to be at a card disadvantage this is my solution.

Vraska the Unseen: This card is just fantastic!
