Hey guys, I'M BACK xD

So,

This is my current Golgari deck. Previously I had a quite succesful "hasty" mid range deck and then after a 2 month break for the Theros release and cycle, I was deciding if to go Jund or what to do.

While reading Wizards official web, reports, deck ideas, etc. I came to a deck called "Gavin Verhey's Reaniwhip"

I tested it for a week in Cockatrice and saw it had several flaws. Or well, maybe not flaws, but stuff I didn't like... like too much green mana, no removal for those pestky Scavenging Ooze, etc.

After a lot of changes, this deck no longer looks like that one anymore, except for some big creatures and 4 copies of Whip of Erebos

I tested it a few times on Cockatrice and it did only average (60% win 40% loss) so it's time to start using this deck and perfecting it.

Also, I decided to not make a deck from scratch and keep running with this one, as I have many people subscribed to my old deck and I don't want them to miss out updates.

As of today (18/oct/2013) old comments and tournament reports will be deleted.I'll appretiate suggestions and +1 votes.

OK, so let's talk about the cards a bit.

The regulars:

  • 4x Whip of Erebos is what make the deck work. 4 copies to make sure I draw it as soon as possible and/or have a replace in hand for emergencies.
  • 4x Lotleth Troll this guy is what fills my GY with stuff and at the same time gets bigger, has trample and regen ;)
  • 4x Grisly Salvage get me what I need, when I need and fill the GY with stuff to be "whipped"
  • 4x Sylvan Caryatid aggro blocker and mana
  • 1x Erebos, God of the Dead I mostly use him to prevent opponents from gaining life, but the draw effect is quite good and as I gain so much life with the whip, not too dangerous either. got a second one as SB to ensure drawing it against opponents with heavy lifelink.
  • 2x Liliana of the Dark Realms to get me mana, but most importantly: to compress my library. also: BB for devotion ;)
  • 3x Nighthowler this guy on a Lotleth Troll is the bomb. Also: BB for devotion
  • 2x Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx The deck is not devotion based, but if the game gets long I might have devotion 6+ easily and this allows me to do some neat tricks like use a Whip of Erebos then cast another one and use it too for one big massive attack
  • 2x Prime Speaker Zegana she is not ment to be cast, but to be scavenged with the whip to draw me some cards. But in case I don't have the whip available, I run 2x Temple of Deceit (instead of just 2 more Forest) and ofc the 4x Sylvan Caryatid

The biggies:

this 3 guys (well, 7 in total xD) can come into play from hand, or can come in "whipped" in for a big swing (with lifelink) and either get some Harpy tokens, mill the opponent for a free creature or destroy one of his guys.
