All that I can think of right now is Strionic Resonator, by copying his ETB trigger, it is functionally another Panharmonicon, which you are already running. I'd drop Priest of Gix unless he plays well for you.

What is the win condition?

Vesuva to copy coffers or anything you need. Afterall, a lord of luxury needs more coffers for his vast wealth. And how do you find the kings vast treasure located in his coffers? You need an Expedition Map.

ThoAlmighty: The thing about Strionic Resonator is that it is a one-shot per turn at the cost of two mana activate. Ideally, I'd like to abuse Gonti's ETB multiple times in a turn if possible, so it really doesn't do much. Priest of Gix is a combo piece with Ashnod's Altar and Nim Deathmantle to create infinite mana, which can then be used in conjunction with Gonti to exile libraries.

Prophet93: The win condition is other people's cards! Lol.

I do have Ashnod's Altar + Nim Deathmantle infinite combos to either make a ton of zombies, or a ton of mana to exile libraries.

I had suspected the Priest fulfilled some sort of combo, but wasn't quite sure what that was. Anyway, awesome deck!

I'd recommend you keep in Burnished Hart as it is great ramp and your reanimate spells can be directed towards it if in a pinch. Looks good otherwise, but maybe Beacon of Unrest for more reanimation?

ThoAlmighty: Any suggestions as far as what I should cut for those?

thornbite staff on hells caretaker might let you kill everyone with gonti by exiling their decks one card at a time for each player...jus not sure how the triggers would stack because hells caretaker is at sorcery speed

99ghosts: Technically, beings that you can only activate his ability during your upkeep, it is an instant speed ability, as you can only activate Sorceries during your Main Phases as long as you have Priority.

You would have to have a second creature either in the graveyard or on the battlefield, with Gonti being in the opposite area. You select targets before paying costs, which is why you wouldn't be able to sac Gonti and bring him back.

For example, you have Gonti and Caretaker equipped with Staff on the battlefield and a random creature in the graveyard. You activate Caretaker's ability, targeting the creature in the graveyard. You pay the costs by tapping Caretaker and sacrificing Gonti. Staff triggers due to Gonti dying (he has to go to graveyard and not Command Zone), and untaps Caretaker, then the creature returns to the battlefield. You can then repeat the steps to bring back Gonti, and continue to exile everyone's library.

Caretaker/Staff are a fine addition to the deck, but I won't be running them just yet. I like the way the deck has been playing our currently.

mirrorpool and geth lord of the vault seem like good additions

bigdon9: I'm going to have to agree with you on that. I can probably cut a Swamp or Terrain Generator for the Mirrorpool. I would just need to find a cut for Geth, Lord of the Vault. Thoughts?

So I had a fun/interesting game tonight. I was against Kynaios and Tiro, Tana/Tymna, and Meren.

Many turns in, at the end of K&T's turn, T/T Chords for Archangel of Thune with Spike Weaver on the field. T/T's turn he goes infinite and sets his life to 10 billion. Swings at K&T with Thune to kill him. My turn I play Yawgmoth's Will. I play Vampiric Tutor from the Graveyard to find Conjurer's Closet. Play Sign in Blood from Graveyard, then Panharmonicon, then Attrition, all from Graveyard. Cast Closet. Use attrition to kill Thune and Acidic Slime. Cast Sepulchral Primordial and in response, T/T removes counters from Spike Weaver to draw from Skullclamp. Bring back Slime and Butcher of Malakir from Meren. T/T realizes they made a mistake since I had Panharmonicon out. I grab Thune/Weaver. I have Viscera Seer out as my only attacker. I Corpse Dance w/ Buyback Gonti, sac Slime to Seer so both had to sac only blockers, then proceed to go infinite with Thune and swing for the kill.

What about instead of Undying Evil we run Reanimate since the suite of recursion is already strong?

December 10, 2016 8:41 p.m.

Guerte says... #19

RazortoothMtg: Thanks!

Delta-117: While the discount would be nice, I'm not sure it's significant enough to warrant a spot in here at the moment.

Casey4321: While Reanimate is a classic reanimation spell, the thing I like about Undying Evil is that it's instant speed. We can cast it in response to a board wipe and it will have an immediate effect, and will give as an attacker when it comes back to our turn. Reanimate is sorcery speed, which means we have to wait another turn cycle before being able to swing, and the loss of life can be significant. I wouldn't replace Undying Evil with it, but I could see running it in addition to.
