Vraska, the Unseen and Garruk, Primal Hunter got married and had Gorgon daughters! After all, Vraska couldn't help but be attracted to a man who wasn't a single beast, but a thousand of them. The oldest Gorgon daughter, Sister's of Stone Death, Xathrid the second oldest, Gorgon Recluse as the third oldest, and Korozda Gorgon as the youngest. The Gorgon family has friends of course, such as Glissa, the Traitor, Corpsejack Menace, and on occasion and Elvish Piper. The family does have pets though; what family wouldn't want to have a dear pet for their children? What better pet for the Gorgon daughters then the Hydra's? They love to play with their Primordial Hydra and their Typhoid Rats.((It's just a fan fiction idea that goes behind the idea of the deck, so please don't throw a hissy fit just because I shipped Garruk and Vraska. P.S. Sorry for not having the cards linked, I'm trying to get used to how to do that.))
I have to say the first time I played with this deck was in a group game(probably not the absolute best time to practice a brand new deck) and it played out amazingly! What I pulled off wasn't the only pretty cool combo this deck can pull off, but it sure as heck was a pretty top notch one.
Corpsejack Menace - He doubles counters, and I have Hydra's. Need I say more?
Gyre Sage - Easy way to make mana to use for Hydra's to come out with counters. Why not?
Vigor - Because why? Because he's one of those F-U cards you love to play, but go 'Grrrr!' when it's played against you. Any damage in general to my creatures aside from him is null and void and they receive counters equal to the amount of damage so they get stronger.
Asceticism - Because why would mommy or daddy let anything happen to their little pet and family guard?
Primordial Hydra - The family's oldest pet hydra. Cut off one head, a thousand more come back!
Increasing Savagery - With Corpsejack Menace it's doubled both times you use it. Put all of it on Gyre Sage so he's rather powerful himself(and with Vigor on the field he can actually attack and get stronger if he's blocked), and use his mana and the lands you have to give that many counters to Primordial Hydra, and with Corpsejack Menace it's doubled. Every turn you double Primordial's counters and double it again because of that.
Not a bad combo for the first game it ever played huh? There's much more havoc to be had with this deck, but any suggestions are welcome that don't involve taking out either planeswalker, the gorgons, hydra's, the family friends and guardian.
