My Current Favorite Deck

Like many others, I took a bit of a hiatus from MtG during the pandemic. When I returned in 2022, I built a few new decks here and there, but nothing much that I really fell in love with. Then, they printed the one card that changed EVERYTHING for me. Despite what the price for this deck is, I spent maybe $20ish dollars fishing for just about every Adventure card ever printed, and just used what else I had in my collection to finish it up. This deck has all of my favorite things: Toolbox, super synergy, and combos out the wazoo. Early game we're going to be playing some good midrange, getting our opponents off tempo, then wiping the board followed by casting a ton of creatures out of exile. Let's get into it.

What's Missing

Before we talk about what's in the deck, let's talk about what's NOT in the deck. EDHREC pointed me to cards like Vega, the Watcher, Sage of the Beyond, and others, but I found that these cards are only good when I start casting creatures out of exile, which is normally in later rounds of the game. I would play these cards only to never see their effects, so they got the axe quickly. Orvar, the All-Form is another card that came to mind, but I never had creatures I really wanted to copy, and I'm a bit heavy on legendary creatures. Cards like Arcane Melee, Quandrix Apprentice, and Fae of Wishes are in the sideboard, so they may get subbed in soon.

Malleable Creatures

At the heart of this deck are creatures (and a few other cards) that have multiple cast modes. Having creatures that double has hexproof, evasion, counter spells, board wipes and more make this deck more flexible than any other deck that I've ever created. When I sit down for the first time with a new playgroup, I always describe this deck as, "having all the answers, but no solutions." This clearly paradox-infused response is just that: Often-times I find myself playing a land a passing, as I just have so many responses to what's going on the table. Gorion's ability to double the adventures truly takes some jank and makes it shine like diamonds. Cards like Sapphire Dragon, Illithid Harvester, and Realm-Cloaked Giant just feel oh so better when you can double it to make sure your opponent can't counter a board wipe. Just be careful copying counters. If you do, your creature will go to the graveyard and not exile! Also a big shout-out to Candlekeep Inspiration for being a late game HOUSE for your opponents to deal with.

Bibbity Bobbity... Boo?

Did we talk about Wizard tribal? Here's what you need to know: Going through my binders, I realized I had a lot of chaff left from my Inalla, Archmage Ritualist Wizard tribal deck, and immediately knew I could jam a Wizards matters sub-theme into the deck, especially because I'll normally have at least two wizards (commander included) to give me some good value. Cards like Riptide Director, Azami, Lady of Scrolls, Galecaster Colossus and Patron Wizard are just the start, while Docent of Perfection   just needs one instant or sorcery to transform.

Magecraft is an ability that triggers twice with Gorion's ability. Archmage Emeritus is the true all-star (TWO CARDS on adventure cast and copy), also cards like Deekah, Fractal Theorist and Jadzi, Oracle of Arcavios   are another cards that fit both the modal motif and the wizards matter sub-theme.

Synergy to Synergy

Lucky Clover is the clear all-star in the deck, as it gets me triple the value for my adventure spells. Of course Tribute Mage is there to tutor it out, and Mirrormade to copy it for quadruple. It wouldn't be a Jeemo deck without Magical Christmas land lol. Foretell cards like Doomskar and Cosmic Intervention lower their costs after being exiled, and who can say no to the Edgewall Innkeeper?

Lastly I have my "flash package" with Vedalken Orrery, Leyline of Anticipation, and Vivien, Champion of the Wilds. Combine these with Tlincalli Hunter, and you have a free creature on EVERY turn, including your opponents.

If you're here this long, thanks for the read. I still need a Chulane, Teller of Tales and a Brazen Borrower, but I'm about done making edits for now. I'm always open to suggestions, so let me know what's in your build!
