Now that all of Innistrad has been spoiled, am I the only one that can't see ANY possible changes to this deck based on the new cards? Sideboard material maybe, but I can't see myself changing out any of the main. I guess in a way that's pretty impressive, and I can't wait to see how this deck performs in the new Standard.

On Molten-Tail Masticore :

He's best used for only one turn. Drop him, burn them for twelve, let him block once and die.

I've put this deck together and been playtesting it for about 2 weeks. I don't lose much with it, however, I haven't played it at FNM yet. It seems to be well rounded. When I need to I can drop into a defensive stance with the deck and use the clones to create the same threats my opponent uses and just bide my time until I pull out the Wurmcoil Engine or Steel Hellkite along with the Contagion Engine to wipe their board. Other times I'm able to play very offensive and drop a 3rd turn coil or kite. It really depends on the opponent. When going up against control it can be tricky to get this deck to come out the way you want. However, like I said it has so many ways to play once you learn it and the more I play it the more ways I seem to figure out. Great deck man thanks for sharing! :)

Sported this deck with a few adjustments at FNM tonight started 6 in top 8. Ended up playing against mono black control with infect and got obliterated. To this decks defense I did get mana screw both games. I did play the same guy casually afterwards and only managed one win. Going to try a few sideboard adjustments for next week. Pod also concerns me as I didn't really have many answers for some moves but overall that was 50/50 on W/L. Overall it was a lot of fun.

that seems Dream Twist together with Grimoire of the Dead could be an alternative

One of the other decks i think this deck does well against is the new token decks. Steel Hellkite for 0 just wipes the field of all tokens, ruining the field. Plus it can deal with other annoying hexproofs such as Geist of Saint Traft and Thrun, the Last Troll

I like it! what about Adaptive Automaton ? it's an artifact which goes well with the architecht, and it's an illusion too that makes all your illusions stronger...

Hey man, I slapped one of these illusions decks together at the last minute to play a buddy in the closing minutes of a shop's business hours.

Yes, I accidentally had 68 cards in it and 17 lands...and 8 of those lands were U/B duals that I had to use as proxies...

But anyways, I did have Invisible Stalker in the deck and Holy $#!+ are they awesome with Grand Architect .

Any way/need to fit them in here?

Not a fan of Caged Sun in this deck. I've tried it before.

i run illusions as well, and seeing Wurmcoil Engine in here, along with Treasure Mage and Phantasmal Image copying the wurmcoil, it sounds like fun. :p

i like ponder and divination for the deck. also. Molten-Tail Masticore is very nice. especially because you can use all his abilities via architect. that way, when an illusion dies, exile it, and make the opponent wish they hadnt blown up yor creature

@Toon

If I were to add another clone I'd 110% try to include Evil Twin .

@Enjoy

Yea, Masticore can be handy but I find I'd rather draw something else most of the time I have it in.
