I'd drop the dragons personally... I might get shot for the suggestion though.

This deck.... gets ridiculous. Turn 6 I consistantly get 2 wurmcoil engines, 2 lord of unreals, phantasmal images as bears, NUTS.

If Phyrexian Metamorph wasn't in standard the dragons would be in the deck. I will put them in a sideboard when i make it for when i want some more muscle.

Wow, 3 graft? I guess you have been playtesting it but I'd run 2 myself as it's a dead draw after the first.
The Tresure mages are amazoring though. Have you considered Contagion Engine ?

Like the deck even more now) Yeap, reduce Xenograft to 2 perhaps, +1 mage, and, maybe, 1-2 Steel Hellkite instead of 1-2 Wurmcoil Engine since you added mages (that are awesome here) and you will be able to choose what do you need : Hellkite or Wurm according to the situation.

I'm just wondering, would using Xenograft to turn your creatures into artifacts help in casting them faster using Grand Architect ? I know your big creatures are all artifacts but can you use that combo if for example you want to land an early Phantasmal Dragon ?
oh and wonderful deck! +1
July 2, 2011 2:14 a.m.
moonyvilan, firstly, you can't turn creatures into artifact creatures by using Xenograft .Secondly, even if you could, you wouldn't be able to play, for example, Phantasmal Dragon on Grand Architect 's mana, cause Xenograft affects only creatures you control (that means in play), and doesn't affect creatures in your hand. And since you are casting them from outside-the-battlefield, at that point they are not artifacts -> unable to use architect's mana.

If Zendkar block is still good, then I suggest fetch lands, this guy works way to slow against fast decks.
July 2, 2011 12:48 p.m.
I say 4 more fetch lands and counters at least. If Zendikar is still good next until October or whenever the the thing after M12 is done.

@gambit hes trying to stay in scars block so that the rotation wont kill his deck.
July 2, 2011 12:55 p.m.
The deck to beat right now is Valakut. How does this deck hold up? I really dig the illusions in M12, and the Architect combo really spices things up.

How do you find the Steel Hellkite s work in this deck/sideboard? It seems that they are almost unnecessary, as you have the Wurmcoil Engine s and, by that point, several powerful Illusions.
Without it, you could put back those Phantasmal Dragon s . . .
July 2, 2011 5:26 p.m.
vales_ebrius, Steel Hellkite actually are better here since:
1) They have a great synergy with Grand Architect
2) Battlefield control to deal with cards like Dragonmaster Outcast , cause this deck hasn't got any other creature/artifact/enchantment controlling.
3) We could find him any time we have Treasure Mage .
None of which can give us Phantasmal Dragon .
Personally I vote for the hellkite)

I wanna put in a Contagion Engine as well, maybe for a Negate.

@Corwin i personally love dragonmaster outcast but to be honest: nobody plays him! hes just to slow

I am shocked this deck has so many votes after TWO days haha. I am glad people are liking this deck, more specifically the illusions.
In all honesty I might try to make this my #1 deck and have my infect deck as my alternate. The sheer awesomeness of this in playtesting is incredible. I recommend everyone give it a try.
