I have long loved to build a theme deck around Greel, Mind Raker. This deck wins by torturing opponents, benefiting from discards (your own included), and in the rare game swinging for massive damage from a late game Nighthowler or zombie token horde.

This deck wants and needs to play with others. It has many cards that hurt you as well as others to make it feel "fair." Most of the enchantments have synergy around discard effects. The most powerful for a winning strategy are Waste Not, Megrim, and Liliana's Caress; combo these with Oppression or Painful Quandary and you have a fun squirmy game going.

Commander damage is not how this deck wins. Ideally you save Greel for when you have at least two cards in hand, several pain on discard enchantments going, and an opponent just beginning to get their hand back. Then use his ability to profit.

While this deck will be having you discarding plenty of cards as well, the card draw that comes from Geth's Grimoire, Temple Bell, and Waste Not will help fill your hand enough to warrant the inclusion of Reliquary Tower.

The deck also has many drain life cards since later in the game you will be a major target and won't have huge creatures to block with. Exsanguinate, Drain Life, Corruption, and Gray Merchant all help get our life back up at the expense of our friends.

What I may add to this deck: Remove two swamps and add Sol Ring and Rogue's Passage. Add more tutor effects to grab pieces I need (Vampiric and Demonic Tutor) and perhaps add Geth himself to the mix replacing one of the common creatures I have.

I am having fun with this deck so far and I hope you do as well. There is room to tweak and play around with better lands/instants, but the core of the deck hums along well. Each game is different and it is important when playing in a group not to be the one who shuts the game down early. Greel is about playing with others, literally. You don't want to rush the deliciousness of later game Rackling, Skullcage, and Wheel of Torture. You will get there. Take your time. Enjoy.
