Green Red Control (Chef's deck)

Standard*

stoffable

This deck is my chef's deck. It's not burn... it cooks the opponent at a nice temperature until done. Basically, this is the closest thing to a green / red control deck that I could think of. I'll explain some of the tactics.

Really, this deck rely's on the Centaur Battlemaster. By using Give / Take, you can trade 6 mana in for 6 cards at sorcery speed. It's pretty efficient, but not the greatest, obviously, since it's not at instant speed. You can do some good burning by targeting Centaur Battlemaster with Blood or Fall of the Hammer. This buffs Centaur Battlemaster while also clearing creatures. In the case of Blood, it also does damage directly to the opponent.

Guttersnipe is in for what Guttersnipe is always in for. He's just there to do some damage while we cast our instants and sorceries.

There are a couple deathtouch creatures in the deck. This is very useful in combination with Blood and Fall of the Hammer. Instant kills on the opponents largest creatures is a hard thing to pass up. Also, they work as great intimidation for stalling out the game.

There is some mana ramp in the deck. Half of the mana ramp involves any color mana. This is so that the deck can utilize the blue in Take and the black in Flesh (I personally don't really ever find a need for Flesh, but it could be a good finisher, depending on what you've killed).

There are some basic burn spells like Magma Jet. I chose Magma Jet because of scrying. It's important to get the right cards, after all. Don't want to get mana flooded. Clan Defiance is in there for both early game and late game removal / damage.

That basically sums up the deck. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
