snowfox54119 I love your Grenzo Build! I plan on building my own version with slight variations, and I was wondering if you could tell me how my deck looks so far! I'd love to know if there was anything major that I was missing.

Here it is!

Also, what do you think about Teferi's Puzzle Box ? I know it's considered a staple for grenzo, but is it worth the artifact slot?

CrustyCraig, looked over the list and it looks really good! There were no cards in there that were surprises to me and it looks like you have all of the major combos; I'll look forward to hearing of your experience with it :)

As for Teferi's Puzzle Box , I know it seems super good in Grenzo (and it can be), but I've personally found it underwhelming. Here are my reasons:

  • A four mana do nothing artifact is hard to justify

  • It's an additional noncreature in the list that can result in a dead flip. It's also not recurrable from Goblin Engineer which could be relevant.

  • If your hand size is already low and you end up drawing 3+ lands, you're screwing yourself over on the next turn.

Those are the main reasons that I don't personally run it.

snowfox54119 thanks so much for your response! I really appreciate the feedback and am super excited to finish the deck!

Also, have you ever considered putting in Godo Bandit Warlord in? As it would be an easy way to tutor the two equipments in that are used for combos?

And what are your thoughts on Seasoned Pyromancer? I can’t tell if it would be a good fit or not, as it allows card filter and summons tokens to Sac but it seems like it has an inconsistent cost of two non land permanents.

Sorry for all the questions! This deck just really excites me and I want to make the most fun deck possible!

CrustyCraig, I've definitely considered Godo, Bandit Warlord as tutoring your Staff or Mantle into play seems so good. I haven't had the chance to test him yet, but definitely should. If you're already testing him out, let me know how it goes.

As for Seasoned Pyromancer , I haven't been a huge fan. Card draw really isn't a necessity in this deck, and there are other more impactful creatures I'd rather play.

snowfox54119, love the decklist and am currently working on the budget version to start with. What are your thoughts on The Cauldron of Eternity and Syr Konrad, the Grim and what they would replace in the deck, if they fit?

snowfox54119 great job with your list, it's one of the favorites at our play group, not just for me. My variant on it is pushed a bit more into the direction of Goblins with running Goblin Matron instead of Imperial Recruiter and more feel of "There's a Goblin for that", but still close to your build in spirit and it's oodles of fun to go and combo off over the wincon of some other player just by flipping the right pieces.

One card I found working for me was Murderous Rider , because from my hand it's a slightly worse heroe's downfall and on the field it's something that can go infinite with Ashnod's Altar and Grenzo. Throw in Heartstone and you gotta go infinite flips and get your combo going. And it's nice to know there is some answer to pesky PWs and hate bears in your deck. It could even be tutored with Imperial Recruiter.

I really like this deck and want to build it, but I want to make it cheaper by removing foils and the expensive lands. Could you please comment and tell me how to remove them so that ist under 150? I want to keep the deck the same with all the same creatures, artifacts, instants, and sorcery, just change the mana base and remove foils.

Any new updates in 2020?

Do you think there's any value in adding in swapping in a ritual or two to get an early flip? For instance, adding dark ritual in place of rakdos signet? You could play dark ritual into grenzo, and immediately flip.

I just stumbled on this after loving the Primer when it first came out. Are you still playing the deck or has it been disassembled?
