Grenzo No Whammies - Press Your Luck Edition

Commander / EDH

wedgeex

Instant (1)

Sorcery (3)

Commander (1)

Commander: Grenzo, Dungeon Warden

Get Grenzo out as early as possible (turn 2) - Don't worry so much about getting him to a 3 strength. Just get him going ASAP. Step 2: Don't play any cards. Spin the wheel as many times as you can for value. You'll miss. Don't let that discourage you. Suddenly you'll realize you have value out of nowhere. You might even have an "Oops, I win" moment. Use your tutors for lands/mana enchants - making land drops is one of the best things this deck could be doing.

This deck is incredibly fun to play - there are so many neat interactions that I highly suggest you try it.

NOTE: Earlier editions of this deck played Doomsday and a few more tutors. This made the deck SUPER consistent but not that fun to play.

Reasons you might like this deck:

Do you like free stuff? Do you like getting value out of your deck without having to use your hand? Do you like playing Rakdos but don't want to play some dumb demon stompy deck? Have you ever played and enjoyed the Momir Basic format on MTGO? This deck feels like playing that.

I'm constantly looking for ways to improve on the design. I think I'm keeping this one together for the long haul.

Many, many ideas borrowed from the deck http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/grenzo-donjeon-woden/
