I had wanted to build a Grenzo deck since he was spoiled. What a cool card. I would have been just as excited about him if he didn't have the ability to impulse draw off of opponents, so that's just gravy.

I don't have too much experience with this deck, but I do try to play it at least once a week at my LGS, which mostly has players who play powerful decks, but don't have a very strong grasp of the rules, multiplayer mechanics, or threat assessment. With that last part in mind, Grenzo seems to make everyone misplay. People seem more concerned with a bunch of 2/2's or 1/1's forcing them to attack with creatures they'd probably be attacking with anyway than other big threatening creatures or control/combo players "doing nothing." This can be really annoying, and if I honestly think they could be making a better play to their own or the table's benefit, then I will. I think goblin tribal is probably the strongest way to play Grenzo, but there are a few reasons I didn't want to go that way, mostly to do with money and the fact that I have two other tribal decks...

I don't win too often with Grenzo, but I've had lots of fun every time I play him because I put people into uncomfortable situations, and just kind of force the game to run faster.

The theory behind the way I play this deck is; play small unassuming creatures and make my opponents kill each other. Well neither of these really ever work out, but there's potential. People so often see me as a threat that I can't play cards that just universally force people to attack, like Goblin Spymaster. I'd love to play him, but I know that if I am forcing someone to attack, and they can attack me, usually into a tapped board, they will go for me every time.
