Don't think i could do a five color but splashing green might be good for that card so i can combo. Also doing that would allow me to replace the Rakdos Guildgate s with Golgari Guildgate s and have something i can use as more than a place holder. Have to look at some more green stuff. Thanks.

A mill deck without Mind Sculpt and Jace, Memory Adept ?!?!?!?

Mind Sculpt maybe. Jace is a bit beyond the concept of a budget deck

Galvanic Alchemist if you can squeeze them in. It's the general infinite mana combination that's pretty common for defender decks.

Thanks! I really like that combo. I just need to figure out what i want to take out so i can put Galvanic Alchemist in.

3 colors and no shocklands or dual lands seems a little iffy to me. I would definately put some Chromatic Lantern s in the deck.

I'd love to be running a full set of shock lands and lanterns, but the problem is once again my budget.

If you are working with a possible Infinite Mana setup, and your goal is mill, then you should look into Sands of Delirium

Sands of Delirium would probably make a good Sideboard card thanks.

Looking a bit more into this, Increasing Confusion is even better than Sands of Delirium . It becomes even more potent when you drop it into your own graveyard. Cheap early mill that becomes a game winner whenever you want.

Hmmmm, if you're going a sort of creature based mill strategy then maybe Undead Alchemist ? Sort of conflicts with the defender thing but is such a strong card, especially taking into account his second ability. Maybe just as a sideboard card vs creature heavy aggro.

@ScottieC37 Thanks looking at it, Increasing Confusion should flow a little better in this deck than the Sands of Delirium especially since i can cast it from anywhere.
@Rooah711 I've been debating about sticking Undead Alchemist in for a while. He's really good for dealing with creatures, but his cost and lack of defender leave me wondering if he's worth it. I might get a couple for sideboard like you said to see how well they work with the deck.
@NoahsArk I really don't see Door to Nothingness Doing anything but taking up space. it's a nice card, but it really doesn't fit in with the mill aspect I'm going for and is completely dependent on the infinite mana combo.

Got a buddy who's letting me buy his Undead Alchemist s and some other cards so I've add them to the sideboard we'll see how they play out once i've gotten the rest of the cards here next week.

Without a doubt replace Thought Scour with Tome Scour . I totally get that you're running a concept where you're looking for cards, but Tome Scour is so much more potent.
Perhaps take another look at card:Ludevic's Test Subject. I know that the concept of a 13/13 is really appealing and that unflipped it's a Defender, but you're trying to mill them, not defeat them. A really potent combination is Hedron Crab + Evolving Wilds . Hedron Crab in play, play Evolving Wilds, mill three. New land comes out, mill another three. You're essentially paying one mana to mill six cards and get a basic land out. Something to consider!

Wait, hold on, scratch the "but you're trying to mill them, not defeat them" line. I glossed over the idea that you wanted to make this more lethal. Sorry about that. Still though, I think there may be a better option than Ludevic's.

I'd drop the Ogre Jailbreaker for more Fog Bank and possibly Hover Barrier . In fact, I really don't think black is necessary in this deck at all. The main reason to splash it would be hard removal, and I don't see that being used. Tree of Redemption will keep you alive, and Grave Bramble for another defender. card:Ludevic's Test Subject is about all the 'lethal' you need.

@comatoseeffect Thanks for the advice. I'm looking at adding in some Killing Wave s and possibly some other hard removal for my sideboard. Also I'm using Treasured Find so i can retrieve necessary cards from my graveyard in case they're destroyed/discarded.

Tried this deck and it worked pretty well. I played it with two Door to Nothingness and dominated in a 4 man free for all.

Tried another 1v1 against a friends discard deck and still having the same problems, too much mana, and not having the deck fire fast enough. Didn't have to worry about creatures since it was creatureless.

Erm, you could probably use Drowned Catacomb and not go over-budget. Defender right now also works a hell of a lot better in U/G, with Axebane Guardian , which can then theoretically make it a 5-color deck, and provides more than enough mana to supply Doorkeeper .
