Been attempting to make Grisix viable in standard for quite a while now. Something is off and Im not sure what and I am looking for some suggestions. The old sketch felt to be trying too much and its was hurting the consistency.
Would like to use Chandra, Pyromaster. But lacking two at the moment.
My LGS FNMs are typically heavy aggro based (3:1) ratio. Anger of the gods is great, just atm it is rough on 3 color mana. I mean very rough. I did not run izzet charms or dissolves last fnm and I am adding them in now. I also swapped out Memory Adept for Arch and put memory in the side. Since it is so heavy aggro based Arch helps more and Adept is better against the control match ups.
I have omenspeakers in for the early game walls and scry advantage. The Grisix Keyrunes in for the walls/beaters. I am considering a 1/1 Rakdos/Dimir Keyrune over 2 Rakdos to get through walls and kill other plainswalkers without having to dump a downfall on them. I am also only running 2 thoughtseizes mainboard due to aggro being huge.
I took out D demons because Selesnya charms are a thing and incredibly popular at my LGS. I did put in two niv which are still vunerable to S charm but if left unchecked can give me insane advantage. People also typically just swarmed my Demon with tokens or a lot of low drops and keep him tapped down. Niv can give me that pseudo boardwipe and draw. I can also use Niv in unison with the whip to net a lot of life each turn.
I am using Ral now as well because he can untap my keyrunes and connections land. Turn 4 I could play him, untap a keyrune, and thoughtseize them for example. Or i can animate, swing, untap for block. Etc etc.
