Surprisingly, I've found that It can block and beat down pretty efficiently while providing a decent source of mana ramp... I also just love tapping out on turn 3 for the Keyrune into Thoughtseize (which I would probably run 4 of, but that's a whole other topic). On top of that, it's just another threat that your opponent will have to deal with at some point in the game... for some decks it's not an easy task pre sideboard.
I think 1 AEtherling is the way to go!! Not a fan of Pilfered Plans, but that's just me haha...

I've seen the keyrune used in a lot of decks, It blocks really well. I did see the rakdos return but sice you only have 1 master and 2 returns the chances of you getting both are rather slim

I'll try doing some playtesting with the keyrune. I'm not so sure about it.

I would add 4x Thoughtseize or its cheap brother Duress

wolfsokol, the problem with thoughtseize is that grixis lacks the lifegain to counter the loss by that many plus shocklands. As a consequence, I only run two of them and bring out Duress from my sideboard when against control or any other build that runs fewer creatures and more instants/sorceries/enchantments/artifacts.

Omphaloskeptic that makes sense however Thoughtseize can trade a lot of damage for 2

You're right, it can, and that's why I run two of them. But this isn't guaranteed, and it's why I'm reluctant to run more. It's not untypical to be down 4-6 health after thoughtseizes and shocklands. Going potentially lower than that by adding more thoughtseizes, when I already have so little lifegain, makes me very nervous.

Consider running Psychic Strike over Dissolve . Yes, the mill from Psychic Strike isn't relevant, while the scry from Dissolve generally is relevant. That being said, after looking at your manabase, it's easier for you to get UBx on turn three than UUx. You have ten lands which don't tap for U and only seven which don't tap for B. It's not a huge statistical difference, but it's worth evaluating whether the scry from Dissolve is worth the two blue.

ppledger, I actually used to run Psychic Strike. You are right about the mana base being better for it, but the dissolve having the better secondary ability. I go back and forth between them indecisively.

You've got to ask yourself the question though: "What good is the second ability if I don't get to cast it?"

@harrydemon117
Well, again, the scry is very nice. In his place, I'm not sure whether I'd use Psychic Strike over Dissolve . It's a question of more consistent casting versus more consistent drawing. If he ran more counters in general, I'd advocate Dissolve in a heartbeat. Having that late-game scry can be invaluable. It just depends on whether he needs the counters for early or late game. Early game, he could get Psychic Strike out more consistently. Late game, Dissolve is better for the scry. If the scry is that important to Omphaloskeptic, he might want to consider tweaking his manabase to make a turn three counter more likely. I dunno, I'm just shooting from the hip here. :P
