GRIXIS CARD DISADVANTAGE

This is the Modern Constructed continuation of Card Disadvantage, a Theros Standard Constructed list developed by Marikha Cabel.

Force, maximize, and punish card draw to the point that having card advantage becomes a lethal disadvantage.

The original engine was the exploitation of Fate Unraveler's triggered ability with Master of the Feast + Dictate of Kruphix and having Disciple of Deceit ensure the timely, consistent presence of Fate Unraveler on board.

The functionality of today's engine hasn't changed, the parts have been ugraded. Fate Unraveler is now Spiteful Visions, Dictate of Kruphix became Fevered Visions, and Snapcaster Mage + Kederekt Parasite work double duty by crewing Smuggler's Copter.

The addition of artifacts like Ebony Owl Netsuke + Howling Mine provide the necessary speed to compete in this much faster format. Artifacts also fixes mana issues, lowering the number of color cards significantly enough to make Darksteel Citadel available, and ensures turn-by-turn artifact consistency for Glimmervoid.

After we had been dating for a while and moved in together, Marikha finally let me teach her how to play Magic. She was quick to learn but didn't like playing with a deck she didn't make so I told her to find some cards she liked that work well together and we'd make one.

She really liked Fate Unraveler's passive ability and found Master of the Feast to pair with it. I thought it was cute but explained how the card draw would more likely benefit her opponent. She still wanted to try it, so we made Card Disadvantage.

In her first FNM she went 3-1 in an extremely competitive meta and her only loss could've gone her way with a bit more experience. It was awesome to hear some of the really great players in town complimenting it and giving thoughtful input.

Marikha continued to play well with the deck in Standard until it rotated out of the format. So, I wanted to see if her idea could succeed in Modern. This deck is the result of that transition and continues to improve thanks to those who've invested their time into providing valuable insight and the hours of necessary play-testing involved.
