Dreadbore is better indeed, but Rakdos's Return isn't that great, maybe you can look at my deck and take some ideas/give a comment.

I got an anger of the gods, guess what happened?

I'll be testing Wednesday, but I already see what you're saying. I'd love seeing it against control to empty their hand, but agro would kill me before I had enough mana to make it worth it. Maybe trade them to the sideboard for whips to keep my life under control/bring back dead Desecration Demons? Or maybe something else?

Whip of Erebos looks usable here, but I'll wait till Wednessday to change your deck

I usually keep one Rakdos's Return in my mainboard, with another in sideboard(for against control if I feel its needed). One is generally enough that you'll see it sometimes, but not too often for it to be wasted. Even fi you are able to empty the hand of Aggro, it'll make most of them have to top deck which is just as bad as it is for control.

If you are having problems with early aggro, i'd put in some Frostburn Weird s. Really, it depends on your meta. Frostburns are really good for early defense until you can stabilize.

I'd also drop the Doom Blade s to 2 instead of 3. Add another Far / Away or even Turn / Burn instead. With Doom Blade, you might run into a deck with black in it and you currently have no sideboard options to put it in against.

Sideboard should almost always have Slaughter Games in it for against control, or just anything aggravating.

And yes, most Grixis players prefer Dreadbore over Hero's Downfall . The mana is just easier to get to most of the time, and not everyone wants to drop 15 dollars per card on an instant.

I've had a couple of folks suggest Pilfered Plans for card draw. I may also have issues getting the Thoughtseize s borrowed for friday depending on what the lender is playing. So I'm thinking one Rakdos' Return and the Steam Augury's for Pilfered Plans, for the extra card draw(and them losing two cards is always nice). I know it's not instant, but very little cheap card draw is this standard. I'd like read the bones, but I'll ONLY consider it if I drop the thoughtseizes from the build; both makes me burn through my life too fast. If the thoughtseizes go, then only two pilfereds, two read the bones, and two swan songs will go in place(each of which I already have). I also seem to be missing my Aetherling.... hope I find him before tomorrow.

Agreed on dreadbore. I have full sets of turn and burn, so I may end up throwing one main and a couple in side, for those black decks. (I'm looking at you, black devotion.) I'll be taking my slaughter games with me when I go to the shop early tomorrow to test, since I still love it as an uncounterable wincon removal. I have the wierds, and I'm not certain on them, but I'll take them with me to try, definitely. A sideboard at least.

I would, but hero's downfall just doesn't feel worth fifteen bucks a card. It'll go down, and I'll wait till then.
