Grixis DELVE with Delver

Sideboarding Guide note this isn't a hard and fast guide

Tier 1

Burn (depends on their build if blood moon will or will not come in, eg mono red for three color)

In (9): 2 Blood Moon, 4 Deaths Shadow, 1 Flashfreeze, 1 Spellskite, 1 Stubborn Denial

Out (9): 4 Gitaxian Probe, 2 Remand, 2 Gurmag Angler, 1 Olivia

Abzan (in this match up they can clog the skies too easily with souls, and if we can make their Abrupt decays dead cards the better served we are, in addition we want reach but bolt gets outclassed by the thoughness of their creatures)

In (6): 2 Blood Moon, 1 Jace, Architect of Thought, 1 Sower of Temptation, 1 Flashfreeze, 1 Engineered Explosives

Out(6): 4 Delver of Secrets, 2 Lightning Bolt

Twin (post board they will likely remove their pestermites and some number of combo pieces and transform into a bad tempo deck, we still have to hedge)

In (5): 1 Counterflux, 1 Jace, Architect of Thought, 1 Slaughter Games, 1 Spellskite, 1 Stubborn Denial

Out (5): 2 Lightning Bolt, 2 Remand, 1 Gurmag Angler

Affinity (probes and remands go dead when the vast majority of their hand is being vomited onto the table for free or near free, EE is there to deal with problem permanents, spellskite to protect against champion beats)

In (6): 2 Engineered Explosives, 1 Sower of Temptation, 1 Jace, Architect of Thought 1 Spellskite, 1 Stubborn Denial

Out (6): 4 Gitaxian Probe, 2 Remand

Infect(use your removal at sorcery speed if you can in order to force their pump spells, while in some matches we can afford to fall behind a little bit in tempo with Deprive, this isn't one of the matches)

In (7): 2 Blood Moon, 2 Engineered Explosives, 1 Flashfreeze, 1 Spellskite, 1 Stubborn Denial

Out(7): 2 Gurmag Angler, 1 Gitaxian Probe, 2 Deprive, 2 Remand

Tier 2

Merfolk (one of the most linear aggro decks there is shadow does work in this match up much like most aggro decks)

In (8): 4 Deaths Shadow, 2 Engineered Explosives, 1 Sower of Temptation, 1 Stubborn Denial.

Out(8): 4 Gurmag Angler, 2 Remand, 2 Gitaxian Probe

Living End(were built pretty well to handle living end, kommand obviously doesnt shine here)

In (2): 1 Slaughter Games, 1 Stubborn Denial

Out(2): 2 Kolaghans Command

UWR(this is more geared towards the controlling version of the deck, delver is a bit fragile when theyre slinging bolts, helix and pte)

In (4): 2 Blood Moon, 1 Counterflux, 1 Stubborn Denial

Out(4): 4 Delver of Secrets

Zoo (similar strategy to burn)

In (8): 2 Blood Moon, 4 Deaths Shadow, 1 Flashfreeze, 1 Spellskite,

Out (8): 4 Gitaxian Probe, 2 Remand, 2 Stubborn Denial

Bogles (this match up is a race, unless we drop spellskite and can hold off their attempt at voltron, shadow again does work, unless theyve got their anti creature enchantment)

In (10): 4 Deaths Shadow, 2 Blood Moon, 2 Engineered Explosives, 1 Flashfreeze, 1 Spellskite

Out(10): 4 Gurmag Angler, 1 Olivia Voldaren, 2 Terminate, 1 Dismember, 2 Remand

Little Kid Abzan (similar to regular junk, delver just gets outclassed, and one of kommands best modes goes to waste if you power out one of their leiges)

In (7): 2 Blood Moon, 2 Engineered Explosvies, 1 Jace, Architect of Thought, 1 Sower of Temptation, 1 Flashfreeze

Out(7): 2 Kolaghans Command, 1 Stubborn Denial, 4 Delver of Secrets,

Jund (drop delver in an attempt to make their decays and IOKs much worse in addition to being a fragile threat)

In (4): 2 Blood Moon, 1 Flashfreeze, 1 Jace, Architect of Thought

Out(4): 4 Delver of Secrets

Tron(our counter suite already aligns nicely against them, this is match up comes down to tempo, most of our threats cant be pyroclasmd, so its o stone or karn or bust, if we land a T2 fatty with denial back up it goes a long way)

In (5): 2 Blood Moon, 1 Slaughter Games, 1 Sower of Temptation, 1 Stubborn Denial

Out(5): 1 Dismember, 1 Olivia Voldaren, 2 Gitaxian Probe, 1 Lightning bolt

Scapeshift(We are the aggro deck and kommand while good isnt amazing when theyre packing 2-4 baloths)

In (7): 2 Blood Moon, 1 Slaughter Games, 1 Counterflux, 1 Flashfreeze, 1 Stubborn Denial, 1 Spellskite

Out(7): 1 Dismember, 1 Olivia Voldaren, 2 Kolagans Command, 2 Gitaxian Probe, 1 Gurmag Angler

Amulet(you cant beat their nut draw, but with alot of cheap counter magic you can often stabilize, more than likely theyll cut their Azusas so our bolts become less effective)

In (6): 2 Blood Moon, 1 Slaughter Games, 1 Counterflux, 1 Flashfreeze, 1 Stubborn Denial

Out(6): 1 Dismember, 1 Olivia Voldaren, 2 Gurmag Angler, 2 Lightning Bolt

Up and Coming

Esper Mentor(similar play patterns to UWR, theyre usually packing 30 spells so denial does a ton of work in this match up)

In (6): 2 Blood Moon, 2 Engineered Expolsives, 1 Jace, Architect of Though, 1 Stubborn Denial

Out(6): 4 Delver of Secrets, 2 Gitaxian Probe

Collected Company(counterflux is a concession to wanting a counterspell that can tag anything)

In (4): 1 Slaughter Games, 1 Sower of Temptation, 1 Flashfreeze, 1 Counterflux

Out(4): 2 Stubborn Denial, 2 Remand
