I found myself not liking Brutal Expulsion. For some reason, paying 4 mana and being force to only use one of the modes isn't particularly good and I find myself unable to get 2 for 1 in too many cases. The 4 mana sometimes really wrecks your mana early on.

I agree here. If you really favor the removal and counterspell Silumgar's Command maybe be better here. In this deck, turn four is a turn you can't waste because you will be playing your thunderbreaks and other things. You have enough low mana counterspells and removal so the card itself is not that great. Silumgar's Command is much more versatile in this deck.

What about +1 Crackling Doom and +1 Foul-Tongue Invocation for them? I agree that Brutal Expulsion has been a bit lackluster so far.

Given if Big creature or beater decks are gonna be a in meta, I suggest 2 more Crackling Doom instead.

Really? I've found gaining 4 life super relevant so far, plus it's a lot easier to cast early on.

Against ramp decks or deck which are capable of putting down multiple creature like red deck or abzan aggro, being unable to target the specific creature you want to remove is a huge problem with Foul-Tongue Invocation. Crackling Doom is harder to cast, but at least in most cases, if deals with the biggest threat and that might mean more than just healing 4 life.

Really great deck! +1 from me!

I was looking at hat to do with my dragons post rotation (my previous deck A World of Dragons), and this fits perfectly! Just a question, is there any suggestion you could give for a more budget friendly version? You know, as in -3 x Jace, Vryn's Prodigy  Flip? :D

DraGonSpell, Im not sure what zach3821 would suggest but there is Anticipate?

With a name like DraGonSpell, I feel like we could be great friends haha! Anticipate is a good call, however, after looking at your deck, you might like a more aggro grixis dragon build than this controlling version. Something that really takes advantage of going T4 Thunderbreak Regent to T5 Kolaghan, the Storm's Fury.

Fantastic deck. I've been playing grixis dragons off and on for months since Dragons of Tarkir came out and recently started brewing with it again. I've spent hours deciding how best to fit it into the current format with Jeskai Black and Abzan Aggro sitting top tier. It seemed like Dragonlord Ojutai and going four color was the best option. Your deck looks well tuned with good explanations for it all.

I see there is no Brutal Expulsion which was my only uncertainty with your choices. I think 2 Crackling Doom is perfect.

Thanks for sharing :)

Thanks! I totally forgot to update the description, should make more sense now :P I appreciate the feedback, the deck has been doing pretty well for me. I seem to beat abzan every time I play it, but jeskai after boarding can be pretty rough.
