Maybeboard


The very first edh deck i ever built on my own. Meant for casual play and preferably free for alls.

Before anyone complains or says anything. I only use Sedris, the Traitor King over the other grixis legends because he lets me recur.. Frost Titan Inferno Titan Grave Titan Trinket Mage Rune-Scarred Demon Archaeomancer or any other sweer ETB creatures i come across.

Giving a breakdown of of every card in the deck and why its in here.

  1. Crosis's Charm - essintially a 3 for 1. Deals with pesky artifacts, built in doomblade, and bounce permanents all in one. this gets dirty when coppied a few times.
  2. Conjurer's Closet - get to bounce a sweet enter the battlefield effect at the end of every turn? sounds good to me. not much of a two for one but it lets me trigger multiple Grave Titan, Inferno Titan or Frost Titan.
  3. Megrim - really shines in multiplayer whenever i can copy Cruel Ultimatum a few times and get to dishin' out some serious damage.
  4. Liliana Vess - +1 "put some reanimate or unearth fuel in the graaveyard or target apponent discards a card" -2 search your library for Temporal Mastery and prepare to cheaply copy a few turns or search for an answer to some board obsticle. -8 take everyones creatures without using Insurrection
  5. Syncopate - counter target spell unless its controller can pay infinite. (Echo Mage + Reality Spasm)
  6. Mindshrieker - dumb a few mana into buffing this guy up and putting some cards into an opponents graveyard. maybe some Reanimate matirial. and he has flying for 1U
  7. Echo Mage - one of the key cards of the deck but not the most important. 1UU for a 2/3 level up is 1U for the first level then you can Contagion Engine the rest of it incase you dont have the mana to level him up 3 times in one turn with the right mana. ex. 1U first level. 1U + BBBR makes him level for thanks to proliferate. He coppies every instant or scorcery two times. great card.
  8. Swiftfoot Boots - some people like these better than Lightning Greaves and i have to agree with them. i like hexproof better than shroud. though it does cost more mana. usually slap these on Echo Mage.
  9. Jace Beleren - or baby jace as some call him. +2 make everyone happy and lose some aggro. -1 get greedy. -10 make some graveyard goodies. use only his +2 and people may not hate you so much.
  10. Charmbreaker Devils - "at the beginning of your upkeep return an instant or scorcery from your graveyard to your hand so you can copy it a few times give this guy a huge buff and hit for about 24+ damage.
  11. Sol Ring - first turn 3 mana is never ever a bad thing.
  12. Sensei's Divining Top - (1) scry 3? awesome. (T) replace with the top card of your library? not too bad. scry 3 and set up a [temporal mastery]] is its main purpose.
  13. Guile - mostly in here for the copy effect and them not getting their goodies back.
  14. Frost Titan - has his own built in counter spell. then when theyre done tapping all their mana tryig to get rid of them i can Dispel their removal. -evil laugh- ..sweet enter battlefield effect. awesome to unearth.
  15. Counterflux - this is a fun card. it is mostly just an uncounterable counter. but whenever people are making a big stack i like to piss everyone off. i usually die soon after but its fun.
  16. Beacon of Unrest - essintially Reanimate with a twist. some people who play Sharuum the Hedgemon like to let her slip to the graveyard but i like to take her.
  17. Archaeomancer - instant or scorcery recurrsion. nice.
  18. Inferno Titan - ETB forked lightning, and on each attack. sounds decent.
  19. It That Betrays - annihilator 2 is pretty sweet.. especially whenever his makes all sacrificed not token premanents yours!!
  20. Trinket Mage - lets me tutor for Sol Ring that kind of stuff. solid.
  21. Rewind - this is a wicked counter. lets me counter something then uptap for another counter. awesome if i have another counter in my hand and its a free for all.
  22. Unscythe, Killer of Kings - +3/+3 and firststrike is awesome. but being able to remove a creature from the game and get a 2/2 zombie in the process is even better.
  23. Phyrexian Arena - awesome. best black card draw ever. some people will say that Necropotence is the best black card draw. but anyone who knows what theyre talking about knows that necropotence isnt card draw. i want to draw my [temporal mastery]] not exile it and return it to my hand.
  24. Cast Through Time - lets me replay all of my instants and scorceries! only bad thing is, it has nothing to do with Temporal Mastery
  25. Blood Tithe - coppied a bunch with Guttersnipe in play. lots of life gain. thought about maybe even adding Pain Magnification just for more use of Megrim
  26. Increasing Vengeance - 3 reverberates in one. approved.
  27. Nicol Bolas, Planeswalker - +3 destroy target planeswalker, land, artifact, or enchantment. -2 take control of what you cant destroy. -9 Cruel Ultimatum on steroids. by far the best planeswalker of the format.
  28. Increasing Ambition - search your library for a card for 5 is hefty i know. but being able to search for 2 in late game with nothing else to do is a life saver sometimes.
  29. Fabricate - been used as a artifact tutor sence it was released and will keep being used as so for the rest of our days.
  30. Black Sun's Zenith - my favorite mass removal. because its not until end of turn and i play proliferate so if my BB8 soesnt remove everything ill proliferate.
  31. Reanimate - what else is there to say? yeah you may lose a little life but thats okay we've got 40 of it.
  32. Grave Titan - enters 2 zombies. swings 2 zombies. unearths 4 zombies. approved.
  33. Dispel - counter peoples counters for U.
  34. Countersquall - counter a non-creature spell for UB and they lose 2? eh not bad.
  35. Soul Manipulation - counter their creautre or return my creature or both?! sounds dope.
  36. Runic Repetition - lets me get any of my flashbacked cards back, super sweet. goes well with Mystic Retrieval for unlimitted use of instants and scorceries.
  37. Diabolic Tutor - solid. no its not a demonic tutor but its alright.
  38. Solemn Simulacrum - a decent 2 for one. i get to search a basic into play tapped and draw for 4 mana on a 2/2 body. ill take it.
  39. Dreadbore - best removal ever in my opinion. takes good care of many, many creatures. also gets rid of jace, the mid sculptor Sorin Markov Liliana of the Dark Realms Gideon Jura
  40. Contagion Engine - one of the key cards. (4) to put a -1 counter on all their creatures then (4) to proliferate all thecounters you want.. twice? sweet.
  41. Chandra, the Firebrand - +1 poke a creature or player (chandra has been known for this horridness). -2 copy Cruel Ultimatum or Reanimate, or Demonic Tutor. approved. -6 dish out 6 dmg to 6 targets is pretty nice. but mostly shes used for the extra copy.
  42. Mizzium Mortars - not too great but it can be overloaded to 6 dmg everything i dont control. not too shabby.
  43. Insurrection - "untap all creautres and gain control of them all until the end of turn. They gain haste until the end of turn." what else needs to be said?
  44. blustersuqall - lets me tap some pesky creatures and keep em down.
  45. Animate Dead - i dont think enchantments can be coppied but if they can awesome if not. then discard it tha betrays then this for 1B and get ugly. ive turn 3'd It That Betrays.
  46. Chromatic Lantern - all your lands have "" (T) add one mana of any color to your mana pool. the best mana fixer edh has seen in a long while. recommended in any edh deck playing more than 2 colors.
  47. Reverberate - just a copy plenty of ways to get it back. awesome.
  48. Clout of the Dominus - in line to be cut. but for now it gives sedris a +2/+2 hast and shroud.
  49. Demonic Tutor - best search ever. 2 mana any card. copy it lots and lots.
  50. Counterspell - "counter target spell" for UU. basic counter.
  51. Blazing Specter - (2)RB 2/2 flying, haste whenever it deals combat damage they discard. solid.
  52. Temporal Mastery - Take an extra turn after this one. then exile.THEN EXILE.. so make use of it while its there. the most it can be coppied in this deck as it is, is 8 times. Echo Mage Chandra, the Firebrand Reverberate Increasing Vengeance flashback it.
  53. Guttersnipe - imagine.. copy skullrend 8 times while Megrim is out. the turn before you Reforge the Soul'd thats like... 192 damage aross 3 people in a 4 player free for all. 64 damage to each.
  54. Grixis Charm - again 3 for 1. return perm to hand. instead of destroy it gives lots of wiher damage for those indestructables. or a little buff to finish someone.
  55. Undermine - counterspell they lose 3 awesome.
  56. Cruel Ultimatum - one of the keycards. this is the primary copy target. coppied 8 times late game in a free for all usually leaves me the winner. i like to throw down a refordge the soul before this to get the most out of Megrim
  57. Mercurial Chemister - U tap: draw 2. solid. r tap: throw a creature. decent removal. 3.5/5 approved.
  58. Cancel - basic counter spell. awesome.

the only infinite combo in this deck is being able to Mystic Retrieval and runic repition any instant or scorcery from the grave yard or flash backs to your hand.

Suggestions

Updates Add

a lot of people think Drastic Revelation isnt good, but anyone who plays grixis knows about the graveyard playability and its estentially a draw four put fuel in your graveyard.
