Whats your strategy for getting Thassa her devotion? or are you just using her as an enchantment?

Mostly just as an enchantment honestly for Master of Cruelties

Really the only way to achieve her devotion is having some Jace's or possibly Omen's on the field, I would love to consistently have her as a creature though. 5/5 Indestructible? sign me up.

I play grixis control and I've already been fine-tuning mine to work post-rotation...

My thoughts...

-2x Haunted Platemail (since Grixis doesn't run board wipes that you need to dodge Supreme Verdict cough...)

-2x Psychic Strike

-2x Negate

-2x Cyclonic Rift

-3x Jace, Memory Adept

I feel like Dimir's mill win-con in control decks loses a great deal of it's playability with the loss of Nephalia Drownyard so I won't even be playing with that at all.

11 Cards removed, now for replacements...

+3x Far / Away (a must-play removal spell that can also be used to protect your creatures when needed)

+2x Hypersonic Dragon (Hasty beat-down that adds ENORMOUS potential to a grixis control deck. Also finishes after a master of cruelties poke)

+2x Magma Jet (Extra burn to finish opponent after a successful 'poke', also helps you find cards you need faster)

+2x Essence Scatter (My personal favorite counterspell in standard, stops threats early on and laughs at ETB creatures for a measly 2-mana.)

+2x Jace, Architect of Thought (Slows down aggro or helps you find the cards you need with the -2 ability)

Also, if you REALLY want thassa to be a creature, Nightveil Specter is the way to go.

I agree with Beetail but I might also suggest running Dissolve (that scry is pretty sweet), Doom Blade , Hero's Downfall and dropping the Rogue's Passage for another temple.

Well given off my experience with my grixis deck so far. I would say this deck is very very suceptible to being eaten alive by aggro decks. Anger of the Gods is fantastic and definitely should stay in. Replace the opportunity with Steam Augury this card is amazing because its at instant speed. then I would add in more counters. Counterflux is a amazing card hands down to me. It literally just says you aren't doing that and there is nothing you can do about it. And if someone is dumb enough to lay (For example) 4 small creatures without letting each resolve one by one then you can pay 1 extra mana and overload the spell to counter all of them. Then Turn / Burn is also amazing removal, especially for indestructible. and gives you a extra ding for your cruelties wincon. Replacing Shock with Lightning Strike would be a good idea but thats up to you. I would drop Jace, Architect of Thought and Chandra, Pyromaster for 2 Thassa, God of the Sea this will give you the power to stop your dead draws and make your Master of Cruelties unblockable. And since you run those frostburn weirds there is a good chance you could make her a creature and have a 5/5 indestructible, but thats not the main reason to have her so dont plan on her being a creature. find a place for 2 more Thoughtseize also that card is fantastic and definitely should be a playset in any deck. But this is still solid so +1 from me for sure.

oh and put Slaughter Games into your sideboard that card is so good, you can tear apart someones deck with that once you play the deck once and you get to look through his deck and hand so then you know what to expect and what to take out if you get another one.
