Modern is in a very interesting area right now - Pod, Twin, and Storm decks are all tier 1, and everything else is tier 1.5 or worse (Yes, I consider Affinity, Jund, Scapeshift, and Tron tier 1.5).

The name of the game right now is trying to find ways to continually interact with your opponent while building your own board state. Using the versatility of the charms, as well as a large amount of disruption, this deck is built to continually keep opponents off of key pieces, while still being able to afford putting out threats.

Thankfully, cards that are particularly good against Pod, Twin, and Storm, are also good against a large number of other decks, so there is very little need to worry too much about some of the meta options.
