definitely +1 for the construct tribal. have you thought of updating this with Amonkhet?

Thanks for the upvotes gentlemen! I hadn't thought about updating it yet nickn0me. Any suggestions? I gave up on this one when cat combo was reliably and efficiently killing on turn four. The deck that I'm piecing together at the moment is Just Keep Swinging. I think it fits into the meta well enough to steal some wins.

Apparently the deck name I used above belongs to someone else. So now the deck is called Grix-Crop Elites which I like better. I still need the Soul-Scar Mages but I've got pretty much everything else.

Hey DubiousDanish, the more I look at it me more I find it hard to put to a place where it is competitive :$ Marvel aside, I think you can put up some pressure with smth like:

Enchantment (3) 3x Tezzeret's Touch

Planeswalker (5) 3x Tezzeret the Schemer 2x Ob Nixilis Reignited

Creature (16) 4x Chief of the Foundry 4x Metallic Mimic 4x Scrap Trawler 4x Walking Ballista

Instant (7) 3x Fatal Push 4x Unlicensed Disintegration

Artifact (3)3x Heart of Kiran

I would always put 4x Walking Ballista, since he's a Construct and picked by Scrap Trawler? He would be your mana sink later games.I am not certain about Bomat Courier since my build is not going so aggro. I would put it down to 23 lands, since Tezzeret the Schemer can give you the extra mana. I don'y think the curve is ideal, as you still have many 3 drops, but for this build I'd say Unlicensed Disintegration is the best removal.Anyway, let me know what you think of this and if you get a chance to play test it! :)

oh, I missed 3 creatures :)Creature (19) 4x Chief of the Foundry 4x Metallic Mimic 4x Scrap Trawler 4x Walking Ballista 1x Herald of Anguish 2x Contraband Kingpin

the latter to help with the draws only, for mana and works well with Tezzeret too! :)

Given your suggestions, you may like my deck All of a sudden... better. I gave up on the construct tribal theme in favor of a quicker end game and spent a lot of time tuning it. It's worst matchup is aggro but when the deck went off it made for quick games. Cat combo was a tough hurdle but my average was a 1 in 3 success rate.

I'll take a look at your recommendations for this deck and see if I can make it work, but it seems like it will still struggle post ban. Ulamog is bigger at around the same point in the game that this deck hits it's stride and zombies is just so much more potent at going tribal. If WOTC wanted artifacts to have a chance they should have printed a card like Thopter Engineer that spawned token creatures and granted haste. Instead they forced vehicles down our throats with Heart of Kiran and it's supporting cast. I had Walking Ballista in the original build of this deck but got sick of spending 6-8 mana to deal 3-4 damage in response to my opponent casting Fatal Push or another cheap removal spell the next turn. The most common reasoning people would argue is "at least you'll get the damage in response" but in reality that's an invalid argument. Invalidated because there are more efficient burn spells available if I was looking for it, the wasted mana puts me behind in tempo, and it takes up slots that could be used on stronger cards. It's a great card to build around, but a tough one to accommodate in this build.

As an honorable mention, if someone can crack the Jund +1/+1 deck Walking Ballista would be ridiculous there.

Whoops, I forgot the most important part! I kept getting distracted by work requirements while typing. Thank you for the analysis and suggestions nickn0me! That's by far my favorite part of the mtg community, it's like we're all trying to solve an ever changing puzzle.

This is a cool build, very unique. Aside from card suggestions, if you go to "edit deck" you'll see a spot called "Hubs" and you can select up to 6 options. Some users follow hubs and you can also search by hub so it will get your deck more views overall, which translates to more feedback and upvotes. For this deck you could do "Grixis" and "Tribal" for example.

As for the build, I would just consider revising the removal suite a bit, Fatal Push is an amazing card. Grasp of Darkness is solid but can be tough to cast sometimes in a 3-color deck. Unlicensed Disintegration seems like it deserves a 4th spot, at least in the sideboard (which you should make!). Shock is good to finish off Walkers or throw to face if close to lethal, but I think it's counterpart Magma Spray is more pertinent with all the Scrapheap Scroungers and Dread Wanderers being played. Could throw a few in the sideboard.

Nice deck, +1!

Which counterspell do you guys think fits the meta better Disallow or Negate?

I've seen people running Negate primarily

Thanks Jimmy_Chinchila, I missed last weekend so I feel a little out of the loop. Any recommendations for my sideboard? I'm really struggling to make a case for this deck in the current meta.
