Grixis Mono-Threat Control

Standard UBR (Grixis)

hhenson1295

Sideboard

The Grixis Midrange brew because it has the best game against all decks in the meta. I opted for the midrange route instead of control because I don't need counter spells. Just jam the threats. The control decks can't deal with all of them. And if i get to turn three the aggressive decks are over. The best card in the deck is probably between quicken, hero's downfall, and thoughtseize.

Quicken turns on all the sick sorceries at instant speed, Anger of the Gods, Rakdos's Return, Mizzium Mortars, and Dreadbore.

Hero's Downfall is just insane. Kills everything but Blood Baron and Aetherling if they have the blink open. But mizzium mortars, far//away, and turn//burn handles blood baron. And if Aetherling resolves with 2-3 open, the games probably over anyways.

Thoughtsieze is probably the best card in standard. Hand disruption is super important against control and midrange strategy. Almost always taking card advantage away from the opponent since i don't have card draw aside from Jace and the Erebos in the board.
