Rather than Fog Bank, maybe Augur of Bolas ?

That's actually a creature I've listed to my notes, and in most cases it seems like a better choice. Thank you for the suggestion!

Augur of Bolas is a very good choice, nice suggestion Kamenitza

i suggest cutting down on a Dreadbore , cutting the fogbank & Dissipate entirely, go to only one Niv-Mizzet, Dracogenius , cut Rakdos Keyrune and throwing in Augur of Bolas , Think Twice , Forbidden Alchemy , and a single Nephalia Drownyard or Desolate Lighthouse to make it a more control feel deck. Underworld Connections is also a good investment.

with this kind of deck, the more cards you draw, the more likely you are to win. because you're going through your deck so fast, you're more likely to hit your land drops, find answers for their spells, and find your endgame.

I understand, the constant to dig is also something I've been wanting for this deck because if anything I feel like my deck needs to go faster for it's win conditions. Would it be wise to maindeck Underworld Connections ?

Also why cut out the Rakdos Keyrune when it seems like a great answer to Thragtusk and other various threats that are put on the board.

Thank you for the suggestions I'll definitely add it to my notes.

yeah i would suggest playing Underworld Connections in the main. just remember to always attach it to a basic land. ah as for Rakdos Keyrune , i forgot to change the paragraph i was typing. what i meant to say in it's entirety was, "cut a single Rakdos Keyrune and throw in an Izzet Keyrune for more of that draw power. card:Curse of Death's Hold in the sideboard seems to be a good answer to tokens, since you don't have access to Terminus or Supreme Verdict

Okay I'll definitely try Underworld Connections in the main. And yes I understand what you mean by adding the Izzet Keyrune for more drawing.

One more thing, why do you suggest cutting out 1 Niv-Mizzet, Dracogenius ?

maybe i am dumb, but why wouldn't you go Snapcaster Mage ? i feel like with any spell heavy deck it is a must have!

Naokz says... #9

With how Snapcaster Mage is in price and how rare it is seen at my local shop it's hard to get even one at the moment. But it is a card I am looking for constantly.

depending on your meta, you might now want Snapcaster Mage at the moment. too much graveyard hate.

Right now I'm thinking of a good replacement for Izzet Charm . It doesn't be to of any use in my deck and everytime I pull it it's at a dead end point where I could of used something much better.

Any suggestions? Maybe an instant/sorcery swamp card?

Syncopate is so conditional, I would much rather play Dissipate .

I've noticed that too, at this point I usually end up switching it out for Negate or Essence Scatter

imo Forbidden Alchemy is 150% better than think twice

Naokz says... #18

Really? Why do you say that? I mean I see a lot of people running it but is it the fact that you have a choice of 4 cards to pick from, ignoring the fact that you dumped the other 3?

I love grixis. Your build is very similar to mine, except I have more kill spells. Your win conditions are also the same haha. I really like your deck. I don't run Snapcaster Mage , too expensive, but most of the other spells are similar. How do you like having counterspells? I don't run any but I probably should...

@SpaderAce - I understand your point about Snapcaster via price, I was able to get a playset over a few months of playing, I am on a budget as well so it's tough to get certain cards in general. You probably have more kill spells due to not having counter spells, if anything it's very important to have at least 4-5 counterspells in a control deck. Of course it may not seem that great but denying a big threat on turn 5 or so is a great thing on your part when in a match. (IE: Thragtusk drops or any other big bad mothertruckers) In any case you should run a few, and side in more or less depending on what you're facing.

Grixis is my favorite deck of control, after playing Esper, USA, and Bant I can easily say that Grixis by far is much more fun and way more satisfying on wins.

Yo I love this deck and was just wondering about your thoughts of Master of Cruelties , my buffalo runs them but won't ever tell me anything good about them.

I will definitely look for updates.
See you on the flip.

I'd say something but I'd know I'll see you in person so it wouldn't matter.

I really like Master of Cruelties to be honest. I've won a few with him

Ever consider adding in Cyclonic Rift ? You have the deck base to overload it. And worst case scenario it's early game board disruption. Best case it's a game ender.

@AzrielBarakiel - I've actually been eye balling that card especially for late game use. I think it'd be a great card but I've also considered Unsummon . Your thoughts?
