I love this deck, it looks fun and is probably hilarious to play with, especially against an opponent who's relying on creatures. I can't really see a way to win though besides slinging spells at opponents and Colossus of Akros.

TheOutcastWarlock - having Assault Formation out helps to not rely so heavily on burn spells. However, with the right defenders out, I've cast Banefire for 20 on turn 6 multiple times. It's a lot of fun to play! I've had games where Vent Sentinel was the only way I did damage to win. Lots of different ways to win.

I can that now that you mention it. A very interesting deck indeed! I'm not to familiar with Defender decks, so I don't have any suggestions. Sorry.

I have a deck like this and love it for multiplayer games! I would suggest Clan Defiance and Comet Storm for X cards (my preference) and also if you want an alternate win route, Hostility, is hilarious.

tsteg4 - I already run a playset of Comet Storm in the main board. The card is simply amazing in this deck! I have 3 of Clan Defiance in the side board. If I'm playing against flyers, I swap 3 Fireballs or Banefires out for them. Hostility would indeed be hilarious in here, but he's not a defender and I rely on having defenders to tap for a crap ton of mana for burn spells and dealing damage with Vent Sentinel.

Thanks for the comment!

Always happy to see more defender decks. I like what you're doing with the red splash for the burn, very potent with this kind of ramp. Have you considered throwing in Traproot Kami? Perhaps it wouldn't be optimal for this deck because you're only running 8 forests, but it's a great turn one drop, especially if your opponents are running green as well, and it blocks flying creatures without technically having reach (which I'm sure has some ridiculously niche application). Maybe potential sideboard material?

Either way, I dig the deck. Have a +1.

hawkgreen - Thanks for the kind words! Traproot Kami absolutely belongs at minimum in the sideboard. The price tag fits me pretty nicely, too. I'm going to pick some up!

fdn2 - I'm not super reliant on Assault Formation for a win condition, so Vessel of Nascency just seems like wasted space. I like where your head is at though!

mr_funk - I had Sylvan Caryatid in the original version of this deck, but ended up cutting it. It doesn't really do anything for the deck besides being a defender.. Everyone else does something else for me. Same goes for Steel Wall. I have some Wall of Tanglecords, but they didn't make the final cut either. I'll bring them in if my opponent is SUPER flyer heavy. Gatecreeper Vine just isn't a big enough body. Having enough mana is never a problem in this deck with a playset of Axebane Guardian and Overgrown Battlement.

I am a fan of Rage Nimbus, Lust for War (on opponents creatures), and Glyph of Destruction for this type of deck. Adds a little more interaction with your opponent.

If you want a way to shut down your opponent then use Meekstone.

Also, since you are ramping Shifting Wall may be a good inclusion.

locopyro I love these suggestions. However, I'm trying to keep this deck as close to modern as possible. My play group allows Wall of Blossoms to be played, though (we are always playing modern). How nice of them ;)

Rage Nimbus seems like it'd be worth trying out. But when Assault Formation is in play, he drops to a 3/3 in combat. Could be great for knocking off smaller dudes.
