WON GAME DAY —Feb. 23, 2013
So...added 3 Thundermaw Hellkite to the deck, and went undefeated at a very competitive Game Day near my house. I won a box of Gatecrash, a playmat, a foil Firemane Avenger full-art promo, a golden deck box and...a cookie cake!
This deck beat out a Silverblade Paladin seleysna deck, a naya deck with Boros Reckoner and Thragtusk, and another gruul deck with reckoner and domri rade. No one wanted to attack into Stuffy Doll, and Hound of Griselbrand killed most other creatures too, especially with a Rancor. So fun to play, because no one was expecting these cards in a Gruul deck. Even my last opponent was like, "I just wasn't prepared for Stuffy Doll. The only way to beat it is to win before you play that card." And with 2 arbor elves, I could play it on turn 3. And I did. then he Oblivion Ring-ed it and i beat him anyway with Hound of Griselbrand + Revenge of the Hunted .

If you having flying problems, I feel bad for you son, I got 99 problems but a Silklash Spider , Tower Defense , or Deadly Recluse ain't one.

yea, Silklash Spider would be an excellent addition to the sideboard! i'll see if i can get one before i play it this weekend :)
However, i think the flying shouldnt be such a problem now. between Domri Rade 's ability to fight creatures, 2 Clan Defiance , and targeted removal in my sideboard, i think i can handle most flying.

Yeah Clan Defiance works even better. I wasn't sure what kind of budget level you were looking at.

Blasphemous Act , Boros Reckoner (although certainly difficult to acquire), Mark for Death , Predatory Rampage , and Into the Maw of Hell are all worth considering.
