This is a tribal midrange deck, revolving around the amazing ability of the Incandescent Soulstoke to throw fatties into play and its sinergy with Death's Presence.

-About the Creatures-

Let's start with the small (CMC 1~3)

  • Incandescent Soulstoke is our summoner, in addition to a sweet power up for all of his elemental friends.
  • Flamekin Harbinger fetches the creatures we need (works best early game and always play her after combat and after Rampant Growth)
  • Smokebraider fixes some (a lot) of our mana problems, can be "fetched" by our Harbinger and is the perfect companion for a Soulstoke to have on board.
  • Ashling the Pilgrim: Ashley, that's how I call my nukey bff, is a less "in the face" place to dump our counters. She is a charm, especially in overwhelming situations, when the board is packed by a swarm deck or our life is higher than the other players' and we want to close the match with a big boom.

Then we have the big bad guys (CMC 4+)

  • Nova Chaser is one of the only two fatties we actually may want to hardcast, sometimes. Her high piercing damage along with a relatively early availability is sure to surprise, even though she can be easily bolted or shocked out of the way. The reason why she is a no-brainer here is her Champion ability: championing an elemental summoned by the Soulstoke makes it "permanent" when it comes back from exile AND championing can be used to save important creatures such as Thornling or Liege.
  • Thornling is where we want to dump the counters from Death's Presence, so we'll want to hardcast it. It can be indestructible, have trample and almost double its power at will. What's not to love?
