the reason for Den Protector is mainly to use as something for late game if you are playing a control deck, or someone that isn't really running a control deck but is slowing you down like a mill deck, so you can flip him over nd get a pump spell, or zada, back to your hand. Also, with all the pump spells you can play him, then pump him, and sing for a lot of damage because he would become unblocked because not many people will have something that can block him (because creatures with power less than him can't block him, so pumping him up is another way of doing a lot of damage to your opponent). And because of that I find him as a better two (but really a five, due to megamorph) drop than I do with the Duskwatch Recruiter Flip or a Lambholt Pacifist Flip.

Clip wings in the board. Really good for ojutai and thunderbreak

I have a similar deck and have found that the most frequent win conditions come from combinations of Silverfur Partisan, Zada, Hedron Grinder, Cryptolith Rite and boost effects that also untap creatures, like Vines of the Recluse and Aim High. On the rare occasion that you can get multiple uses from Cryptolith Rite and Zada, Hedron Grinder in the same turn, it is invariably game over. I don't agree that adding an extra Arlinn Kord Flip will add much play value to this deck (although my deck has 3)

TylerBrownell97,
Ok, yeah that's what I thought. IMO Den Protector is fine as a three-drop in decks with other morph cards, generally meh as a two-drop, and not at all what I want to do with this deck. Thanks though, seriously!
alambert1000,
Sorry but no way on Clip Wings. It's terrible against decks with the sense to run Spirits/Thopters/Gryff's Boon/ANY other flyer along with their big bombs. Really the only thing I like about it is that so many people are playing it ... I can leave up for an easy bluff, and I can surprise an opponent (EVERY time so far) with Tears of Valakut.
EddieRhino,
Wish I had the room! :-)
Murphy77,
Oh that's interesting ... I love Vines of the Recluse but had never considered running both Vines and Aim High. Do you have your decklist up?
Thanks all!

Nissa, Voice of Zendikar for side. Tested her out today and she was FANTASTIC.

Murphy77,
Thanks; I'll check it out!
BlueEyes,
I didn't exactly plan to, but ended up running Nissa in my sideboard last night :-)
So thanks!

I like what you have done with this deck. I have yet to play with R/G Zada+Werewolves in any kind of tournament. The only play my deck has seen is play testing with some friends (who run a mono-blue mill deck, a U/R aggro deck with Thing in the Ice Flip, and a few other decks that I can't remember what they were) and I tend to have a slightly slow start but with a fast finish if that makes sense. I think after reading both yours and snarlmkiv updates and how you both did in tournaments, I think I might try to add some kind of removal and other stuff you guys already put into your decks.

I played to my deck's strengthsGreen - Ramp and powerRed - Burn and removal
After that, it was simply second nature to know what cards needed to be added.

I got the same results. Unfortunately the 1 win was the bye. I lost 0-2 to full on tournament collected company deck, got bye round 2, Round 3 lost 1-2 to my friend playing U/B Midrange with a playset of Avacyn's, round 4, lost to U/B Zombies 1-2. I did get to combo off and made 8 wolves and drew 8 cards but that was about it.

I added rogue's passage to my wolf deck after seeing your list. It ended up winning me a match (10th place overall in game day). Thanks!

Catching up on comments ...
TylerBrownell97,
Thanks and I like this one much better too ... I had really pushed the previous version too much Aggro and put WAY too much emphasis on the combo. It was just too fragile. Ah well, live and learn!
Thraxx,
Sorry about that. I'm hopeful this more balanced version works better! If you haven't already, you might also want to check out the Hall of Fame decks over at All things Wolven.
alambert1000,
I never mind relooking cards because the meta in constantly changing, but for now I'm not a fan of Clip Wings at all. It's basically terrible against decks with the sense to run Spirits/Thopters/Gryff's Boon/ANY other flyer along with their big bombs. Really the only thing I like about it is that so many people are playing it ... I can leave up for an easy bluff, and it's easy to surprise an opponent with Tears of Valakut. Thanks though!
Stryfe1388,
Oh that's so cool! It's funny, I LOVE Rogue's Passage in EDH but had somehow missed the fact it's Standard-legal. If Argeaux hadn't recommended it to me on another deck, I would never have included it here! :-)
Congrats on all the Game Day packs!
Thanks to all!

I would strongly recommend Kozilek's Return over Radiant Flames in your Sideboard.
Although you don't get its graveyard effect, it is just a straight out better card in two colours.
We've been using it in StuBi's equipment deck with excellent results.
It's a little expensive, so that might be a factor.
Rogue's Passage is one of the best cards ever printed in Magic and I try to run it in most decks where is it legal.
May 2, 2016 10:21 a.m. Edited.
Argeaux, I would argue that Radiant Flames is better in this deck than Kozilek's Return would be. They both cost the same, but Kozilek's Return deals a fixed amount of damage. Given the manabase for this deck, Radiant Flames should consistently do at least the same amount of damage as Return does. With the inclusion of Cryptolith Rite, Radiant Flames can potentially deal 3 damage to each creature if needed.
May 2, 2016 10:37 a.m.
I can see that. Forgot about Cryptolith Rite.
As I said, in a deck with only two colours Kozilek's Return is strictly better IMO due to its Instant speed.
May 2, 2016 10:42 a.m.
Definitely considering Kozilek'S...
Burn from Within is also a great big nuke. Just 2 of in the sideboard...

My partner and I shoved Crater's Claws into just about every deck we played, and are now doing the same with Burn from Within.
Unless your Oppoent is playing there is almost nothing to answer a final burn to the face for game.
You're hanging on for dear life. You're on 6. If only you can get ... SIX TO THE FACE ... never mind.
I've even won games when my Oppoent is on 14 by doing seven to the face, followed by another seven to the face. Brutal but effective.
May 2, 2016 11:06 a.m.
So you' re sayng it could be a mainboard card as well.... Interesting....
May 2, 2016 11:08 a.m.
You've just got to test it to see if it's right for you.
My partner is a whiz with it. I hate playing him because everything will be going along swimmingly and I'll be on 10 life or something, and then he'll cast Burn from Within for 11 and there's nothing I can do.
You've got to not be afraid to use it at any point of the game, but only as a last resort. That way you mostly get to use it as a finisher.

Now we wait for Eldritch Moon for tribal support.
