Cool deck! You've made some interesting choices here.

Not sure if you want the maindeck Pact of Negation , or even at all. In my experience playing with it, it just counters a removal spell and I always wanted the Apostle's Blessing for versatility instead. Let me know if it's useful.

Those Creeping Corrosion should really be something else. EOT Hurkyl's Recall is actual Time Walk against Affinity, so play some of those instead. However, I think you are overcompensating for Affinity (maybe you see enough of it for six sideboard slots), and not enough for Melira Pod. Hunt the Hunter may be a cool option to beat Melira, Sylvok Outcast , or you could just side in more Vapor Snag .

Maindeck Birds of Paradise should do you wonders, especially when your manabase can be inconsistent sometimes. Casting all your pumps and protection spells in one turn is really powerful.

Hey thispersonisagenius!

Been away working for the last 2 weeks and finally am able to respond.

I think I agree with your thoughts on Hurkyl's Recall and I'll be running them over the corrosions. I also tried Hunt the Hunter but found it to be to narrow with only 4-6 green creatures myself. So I'm back to running a pair of Dismember in the SB. Vapor Snag has been doing some real work for me so I'll be keeping them in the MB for now.

Pact is something that I like. It might not be better then more protection, but it has won me games where I'm low on mana and need to go for the kill that turn or die on the next. It's a "fun-of" and will catch a lot of folks off guard, and with the birds I might even be able to pay for the upkeep cost on it :)

Thanks for the input!

Nice to see you back!

One thing I notice that is not in your sideboard is Spellskite . I believe it to be practically necessary, as it acts not only as a protection spell but has great residual value against the mirror match, G/W Hexproof and Splinter Twin . I might cut some of the counterspells (Dispel and Spell Pierce ) to make room for it, as you already have some maindeck and 4 Dispel between main and sideboard is probably too many.

The suggestion of Hunt the Hunter actually works really well if you're playing fetchlands. Dryad Arbor can be really easily searched up with Misty Rainforest and Verdant Catacombs to fight with a Melira, Sylvok Outcast . Since you're not running that package, it's obviously much less effective.

Great listing! +1!

Because of budget, I have been slowly building my infect deck Botox, from the famed $10 infect through all the articles and primers listed by thispersonisagenius on other threads (Marijn Lybaert and Tom Ross, for example). I am glad to learn I can acquire painlands, shocklands, and Hinterland Harbor before fetchlands and still have an almost competitive deck. Same goes for Birds of Paradise vs Noble Hierarch . Glad to see you pack Wild Defiance , I really like that card.

I understand and like your being fond for Pact of Negation despite people wondering if it is suboptimal from a more cold factually point of view; I remember including Final Fortune in my RG deck for a Visions Pro Tour and winning more than a match thanks to it; people just were not expecting a Time Walk from an aggro player in Standard!

Your listing and comment thread is very useful; thanks!

Hi guys,

I was wondering if there was a strong reason for using the Hinterland Harbor over using a Mana Confluence ? It seemed to me that since we aren't caring too much about our life, we wouldn't mind paying the 1 life to have a guaranteed comes into play untapped land.

Darthul, I haven't checked it now, but I think one Mana Confluence card could be traded for a whole playset of Hinterland Harbor ... although thanks for the tip!: For my own Infect deck Botox I will pack my old playset of City of Brass instead of purchasing the Hinterlands while saving for the fetchs...

Lol Abubroki I am amused that you are discussing suggestions as if they are to your own deck :)

You can definitely play Mana Confluence , and it'll be just as good as Hinterland Harbor .

Well, as i said, Jojja's deck seemed to me like a reference next step from my nearly generic Monogreen Infect to full fledged competitive GU Infect (your take, Tom Ross', etc). Sorry, I was not trying to claim attention; merely thanking you guys for all the insight about Infect : )
