G/W Aggro (post m13)

Standard* Aggro GW (Selesnya)

Sideboard

A deck similar to the G/R Aggro build but with white! Essentially this is a deck compiled of all the best stand alone cards from their respective colors. The deck focuses around the idea of powering up creatures for one lethal strike.

Ajani, Caller of the Pride is in this deck because of just his sheer power at only 3 mana. The fact that he doesn't have to have a target to use his +1 ability means that you can be on your way to ultimating him even after your opponent wipes the board with a wrath effect. His +1 ability allows for your weaker creatures to become solid blockers as well as viable threats. His true potential comes out with his -3 ability though. Give a creature some counters then swing over the top for a shitload of damage all at once.

Rancor. I feel like this card really needs no explenation as to why it has a spot in here. It is just to powerful to not have a spot!

Wolfir Silverheart has found a home in this deck because he is universal. against control he allows you to race big creatures like Consecrated Sphinx and Sun Titan, he also makes it damn near impossible for other aggro decks to successfully attack into you.

Cavern of Souls. I have had alot of questions as to why cavern is in this deck so let me explain. One of the toughest matchups this deck has is against delver and the things that make delver so annoying to play against are Vapor Snag and Mana Leak. CoS is an attempt to take away much of the value that they would get out of leaks. While it is true that there are several creature types in this deck, against delver the main creatures you want sticking are Restoration Angel to combat their flipped delver and angel, and Phyrexian Metamorph in case they are running Geist of Saint Traft. Push comes to shove CoS is just a great mana fixer against other aggro decks.

Triumph of Ferocity. This card is in the sideboard simply for control decks. Control has a very powerful weapon against us and that is wrath effects. Triumph ensures early on that you will have fuel in hand to survive a wrath effect should you not play around it. The extra card draw also allows us to keep riskier hands than could normally be kept.

Thragtusk. This card is in the sideboard because to me he is alot more situational than silverheart is. I really only want thragtusk against delver decks that rely on cards like Vapor Snag to slow aggro players down. In the mirror match many aggro players will just race thragtusk forcing me to be the more defensive player in order to get maximum value out of it.

Sublime Archangel. This card has to be the most powerful creature in the deck. Not only does she have flying and exalted, but she does her job in making sure every other creature you control get their share of exalted to! She allows you to swing over the top for alot of damage while holding back blockers to make sure you don't get out raced.
