Sideboard

Hello mtg players, this is a deck I've been tinkering with and playing with since rotation. I believe it is now in a stable state to not only share the deck, but also explain some of it now that I know how to play it very well myself. It is a take on GW tokens that basically adds the Eldrazi cards to the mix to help the deck out. They are hard to see coming and are much more powerful in the strategy than most would believe.

So, why play the deck? I think it has a variety of good matchups (although I haven't tested it at super competitive events, as I am 15 and can't afford to travel and pay for a tournament entry), I have a very good winrate against normal GW Tokens, the eldrazi help the matchup out a lot, matter reshaper can trade with a lot of things and gain you value no matter what happens to it. Thought-knot takes out a lot of they're threats although it sometimes sucks when they get removal and get to draw a card. Smasher is great at pressuring their planeswalkers and turning the game your way. As well as an amazing card in the matchup, which I have moved to sideboard, Eldrazi Displacer, it kills their tokens very quickly, makes ormendahl worthless, kills hangerbacks.

This is how the matchups have gone so farGW Tokens: Somewhat even, with my deck having more victories by a decent numberRamp: Haven't lost a match to it yetBant Humans/Company: About even, sometimes I win, sometimes I lose, hopefully my new sideboard fixes that.UR Flyers: Haven't lost a game to it yetUR Control/Goggles: Have only lost one match ever to one of those style of decks, i.e eldrazi control or goggles.White Weenie: Haven't been playing this matchup lately, the last time I played it the deck was way too different to really count those matches.BW Control: One every matchGB Things: Only lost one matchGrixis Control: My sad matchup, mostly losses, but I've pulled threw a couple wins.Naya Midrange: Won every match so farBlue Prison: Only played it once, I did lose but I think its a good matchup still, I did get pretty unlucky.Cryptolith decks: Haven't played them in a while, too different of a list now to count it.

I will now go through the mainboard card choices,Creatures:

Lambholt Pacifist   : Most pros have decided against this card in the most recent GW variants, opting for den protector instead. I strongly disagree, sure the protector is strong but I think the pacifist is better, against GW tokens I like the pacifist because if they have Dromoka's Command they will use it immediantly to clear it with their advocate, this gets rid of the command and i'm usually happy with the exchange as its better then them killing a small advocate, plus if they don't have command, they have to awkwardly hold back the advocate. In other matchups you might want to sideboard them out for den protectors if you're expecting a lot of spot removal.

Matter Reshaper This is actually one of the more important reasons to play the eldrazi, this card is bonkers, trust me. Its another turn 3 play if you don't draw Nissa, the card you get off it will always be good. If it dies on turn 3 and hits a land, turn 4 smasher or avacyn. If it hits a creature or another reshaper it usually has basically decided the game. If it hits something expensive, thats fine too because if you're missing landdrops and that happens then it just puts you one card closer to a land. Sometimes I chump block with this card if I don't wanna take too much damage just because of how bonkers the effect can be. Very underrated.

Thought-Knot Seer Most of the time this guys is either bonkers good or at least decent for the info. Sometimes I think people overrate how bad it is when you play him and your opponent reveals 3 lands. Trust me that is a good thing, sure I risk them drawing a card down the road for free, but a 4/4 body that tells me my opponent has no action in hand is great, its a 4/4 it can start attacking. Most of the time you basically pick and choose between their threats but thats fine, the downside is that you often are forced to take their removal spell so that they can't immediately kill him. Surprisingly enough, I actually prefer him late game, when the opponent has few cards, you often take their only relevant one or like I talked about earlier you get info on their lack of any action in hand. In my opinion he's the weakest of our three eldrazi but he is still very strong.

Reality Smasher: I thought this card was bonkers when it was spoiled and I could not be more right. It does everything right, it makes your opponent 2 for 1 themselves trying to kill it. It pressures planeswalkers incredibly well. And people don't expect him in GW Tokens, so sometimes they tap out when they normally wouldn't allowing it to sneak through for the kill.

To be continued, sorry guys I'm kinda tired but I will finish the deck review later.

Heres a little bit of theSideboard guide!

Updates Add

I have 6 top 8's in a row right now at fnm. It doesn't sound that impressive but there are great players with top tier decks at my fnm including those who've played on the pro tour.
