This is a deck I made for a friend that's new to Magic. This deck is very cheap financially and is fairly easy to pilot. I don't think this deck really is "better" than U/W Heroic, but in some cases it can be cheaper and it isn't the same old deck that everyone else is playing. On to the cards!
Creatures:
Akroan Skyguard
is a cheap flyer with a heroic ability that makes him bigger. Perfect for this deck. And he's just a common!
Centaur Battlemaster
is a heavy hitter for this deck and the top of the curve. His heroic ability is bonkers. Not one, not two, but THREE counters per trigger. A great way to finish off our opponents. I just wish he was a little cheaper, maybe 2GG instead.
Fabled Hero is another heavy hitter for the deck. He is capable for smashing in for a ton of damage and only for 3 mana!
Favored Hoplite
is a great one drop that can protect himself and grow at the same time. Our preferred turn one play.
Seeker of the Way
although not a heroic creature, Prowess still plays well with heroic. And he helps gain us some life, so that's just great.
Instants:
Defiant Strike
is essentially a +2/+1 bonus in this deck, and it gets you a card. Great value, and only one mana.
Feat of Resistance is a card I really wish we could have 4 of. I just couldn't find the room, and
Reap What Is Sown
is just busted in this deck, so I had to make cuts. However, it is still a great card for this deck.
Gods Willing is a great way to protect our creatures, trigger heroic, and get a little extra value with the scry. Great against basically any deck playing colors.
Reap What Is Sown
is just plain busted in this deck. Not one, not two, but THREE heroic triggers, AND each creature that is triggered gets a counter! This card basically says "Put two +1/+1 counters on target creature". Incredible in this deck.
Warriors' Lesson
is how we get some extra cards and heroic triggers. This card hits two creatures for one green mana, so that's good value already.
Ordeal of Nylea
is mostly in here because it gives counters, but the ramp does help get our
Centaur Battlemaster
our there faster and helps us find all our colors. Can't get much better in these colors.
