Saw the upcoming Thalia's Lieutenant and Sigarda, Heron's Grace and thought "this sounds fun".
Main Stars:
Champion of the Parish - almost every creature we play pumps him, so that's an auto 4x. Preferred turn 1 play, multiples in your starting hand are great too.
Thalia's Lieutenant - two-drop Champion, but pumps all our previously played humans, too. Worth nothing is that Champion gets two +1/+1s from this one, and his value rises even if we've already played most of our humans.
Sigarda, Heron's Grace - This one is tricky. She hits the field very late for our gameplan, but a 4/5 flyer is pretty nice for closing out and she also makes our humans much harder to remove. Lategame, she can spit out a ton of tokens to either go wide or buff our Champion of the Parish and Thalia's Lieutenant
Silverblade Paladin
- originally a 2-of, this one proved so well in playtesting as a turn 3 play that I've gone to the full four. Double Strike for him AND our super-buffed Champion? I'm in.
Example "best play":
Turn 1: Plains + Champion of the Parish
Turn 2: Plains + 2 Champion of the Parish
Turn 3: Land +
Silverblade Paladin
Turn 4: Land + 2 Thalia's Lieutenant
summed up: 8/8 Double Strike, 7/7, 6/6, 4/4 Double Strike, 3/3 and 1/1 on your board, way more damage than lethal. Sure, this assumes no interaction and no blockers, but hey, it does look impressive ;)
Suggestions very much welcome. Trying to keep this very very budget though.
