My G/W lifegain deck for the Rogue Deck of the Month from april from roguedeckbuilder.com.
I went 3-1 and 2-2 at FNM if I remember correctly
The main purpose of this deck is to get huge amounts of life, put a chalice of life into play, and try to flip it.From the moment you flipped it, you're dealing 5 damage a turn. Which ends the game pretty quick.
Some of the cards explanations:
Pilgrims and farseeks:Ramping to the 3 to 5 drops
Selesnya charms + Oblivion rings:Removal for creatures, planeswalkers, surprise blockers, ...
Centaur Healer:Earliest 3-drop which gains life and can work as a blocker
Chalice of life:Main kill strategy of the deck, flip it, and win the game very quick.
Rhox faithmender:Doubles all the life you gain and works as a great blocker.
Tree of Redemption:When you see this card, you wouldn't immediately think it's the best card because you don't gain't life,But when you have this and a rhox faithmender in play, things can get fun.For example, you're at 30 life and your tree (without summoning sickness) is a 0/13. It's the end of your opponent's turn and he is tapped out, you use the tree's ability(tree 0/30, life 13)Then in your turn you use it again, you go from 13 to 30 life, so you gain 27 life, so with the faithmender, you're at 57 life instead of 30 life
Trostani:You gain life every time a creature enters the battlefield under your control. Also the populate abilty can be usefull with the grove of the guardian or the beast tokens.
Restoration angel:Blinking your creatures who have etb abilities to gain more life
Thragtusk:Best creature in standard that also gains life
Best moments with the deck:- Being at 2000+ life while facing 4 thragtusks, 4 thundermaw, who are attacking each turn, while I have a Grove of the guardian token, which I can populate each turn with Trostani.I had 3 Faithmenders in play at that moment, so I gained 64 life a turn.
